Cooke was a dirty (frank) and so is Wilson. The fact Wilson will fight doesn't make him less dirty, so that's a weird take. Also, the difference here is the Pens actually drew a line in the sand with Cooke. They said you either change or you're done. While they ultimately moved him, that one season where he had to dial it back he actually played decent hockey without being a dirty POS. The Caps are doing nothing.

The league specifically said it was for the roughing call against Buchnevich.
I get where the league is looking at video evidence vs. assumed intent. But, this is not a court of law. If they look at all that and don't see anything worth trying to somehow impact Wilson's ability to think his actions are ok, then we are headed toward someone being hurt much, much worse than this.

These things used to happen once a night in the NHL. I’ve heard for years how these things will lead to something very serious....yet it never has. In the mean time the league has mandated rules to curb this type of event.....to the point where by when they happen you get get guys like EK saying he should receive a lifetime ban....my lord. Hockey’s a rough, dirty, tough sport. Despite what the league has done it still is what it is.

Watch the video in slow motion. Wilson did NOT have his stick ON the guy's neck. Wilson tapped Bucky on the body, not the head. He was jumped by Panarin, after another guy jumped him.

Him and Panarin fell together, and Panarin bumped his own head on the ice.

I hate Tom Wilson. But last nights shenanigans were not close to lifetime ban worthy. He poked Buch and then rag dolled Panarin some. I’d give him a game or two just because it is him and he is repeat offender and is an extreme douche, but the league won’t.
