He doesn't deserve a life ban but 5k and no suspension is a ridiculously light take on a really crazy out of control moment that quite honestly could have been really worse with Panarin getting rag-dolled like that. 4-8 game suspension should have been the penalty.
I see some here acting like Breadman should act like the Steamer or Jonathan or even my man Danny Gare… ya know small guys that could really go. Those days are over.
My team blows .. But I will say one thing about Murray, he keeps guys, DiLo / Manson & Until last year Ritchie & Guds to protect the 2 stars we do have ….
The NHL has been consistent at one thing and one thing only. The league has never learned to police itself correctly. The only justice in this league is by the players themselves. Another player, even if not on the Rangers, needs to have the guts to send this guy a message. If they can't stand up to him, then take out one of their best players and let him thank Wilson for what he opened up on them. See how his own teammates feel about him once it becomes open season on them. It sounds horrible, but this is basically the league message that is being sent. It's like prison rules, which is absolutely pathetic and shameful on the NHL.
How is it ridiculous? This isnt his 1st time. He is a repeat offender. He is not learning his lesson. There was no fight. He blantantly attacked players down on the ice and suplexed Panarin like it was the WWE......

I don’t like Wilson buy a life ban? Good lord. No wonder no one takes this site seriously. You’re a dork. - black_francis
I mean how many times are we just going to ignore his antics? How many times does he have to pull this bull before he is banned. We shouldnt be waiting until he Todd Bertuzzi's someone
A 5k fine is a complete joke from the league!! They are admitting what he did was wrong, but not bad enough to suspend a repeat offender????Great job parros, you are a franking joke.

what needs to be taking out of the game are these disgusting rat like hits, Matt Cooke, Wilson or what Bertuzzi did to Moore come to mind.
Straight up fighting should stay given there seems to a ''consent'' from both players to go at it.
Funny that the PA seems more interested in protecting the Wilsons of the league than the Panarins. I get the league's focus, but the PA has to protect players from each other first, not protect thugs from discipline first. 5000 dollar fine is a joke, but it's the maximum allowed under the CBA. That's the real joke.
So just for a quick stark comparisson here... A player like Kevin Fiala (a true finesse player with zero history of negligence) gets a 3 game suspension forfeiting $78K for an unintentional boarding penalty that resulted in NO Injuries... and this ass clown with a checkered history of egregious violent hits gets a measly $5k fine for punching and bashing heads into the ice when these guys are already down and vulnerable?!!! Nice (frank)ing determination process by the league safety commission...

I know!! It was totally unnecessary, the double minor was enough. Too many fans of figure skating watching hockey these days.
If I am the Rangers im not even playing hockey on Wednesday, Im running every player on Washington I can, including the goalie.
Maybe a few players are facing the boards, who cares, clearly the NHL doesnt.
I'm trying to inflict as much damage as i can, and every time i do it i just whisper in the guys ear and say "Thank Wilson for this" - ImThatGuy
Completely agree here. If league isn't going to protect the players in the league, the players must do it themselves. Eye for eye tooth for tooth on ice justice. Take runs at backstrom, carlsson, goalies, etc. Prey on the weaker players just like Wilson preys on his weaker opponents.
