I am all for a little old school toughness, and I usually argue on the side of these players, but not this time. This guy is garbage...ban him for life. The "lifetime ban" is definitely overdrammatic, but a $5000 fine is light for his series of incidents in that game.

So just for a quick stark comparisson here... A player like Kevin Fiala (a true finesse player with zero history of negligence) gets a 3 game suspension forfeiting $78K for an unintentional boarding penalty that resulted in NO Injuries... and this ass clown with a checkered history of egregious violent hits gets a measly $5k fine for punching and bashing heads into the ice when these guys are already down and vulnerable?!!! Nice (frank)ing determination process by the league safety commission...

Again, the league should have reprimanded Wilson more severely for doing what he was doing there cause that's a bad look from a guy that already has a bad reputation, but again, what what he supposed to do when Panarin jumped on his back? Let him down easy and comb his hair back for him? In the heat of the moment shyte happens. And yes, if I'm in that situation where someone is attacking me in anger I'm grabbing whatever I can. That's the way the game is played in the heat of the moment. Flyers have Morin when he is not injured. Although their coach is a pacifist who does not really seem to believe in fighting or even hitting, so not sure if that matters. Speaking of the Flyers when the big bad bruins used to run around and create havoc, the Flyers would dump it in Orrs corner and unleash mayhem.

I would leave Wilson alone. I would not touch him. However, I would run Carlson all day. Over and over. Then OV. That’s how you make Wilson crazy. His ego will get the better of him and he will take bad penalties.

Rangers have nothing to play for now. To be clear, I loathe the Rangers, but Wilson is an absolute pot and the blue shirts should make sure that a few of the caps best players don’t see the playoffs either. That’s how you address a Tom Wilson.

But in that situation with Panarin I think he just grabbed whatever he could in the heat of the moment and let's face it, Panarin had lots of hair and that's what he happened to grab. It's not like he yanked him all over the place by his hair. Wilson should have been suspended for the rest of the regular season for the punch to the back of the head to a guy that was down, but I honestly don't think the Panarin confrontation was worthy of a suspension. We can agree to disagree.
