We have enough guys who can't finish in the bottom 6.
He, for sure, isn't a top 6 player.

For $1.6m or whatever it is, it isnt the end if the world...so if he settles in as a 4th liner who can pot 10 G's, then great.

My best friend used to say this...except he added a little bit to it :

"Hands like feet - they both stink"

That was my first thought as well when we acquired him from Boston.

It’s definitely possible

He is one of the worst passers I have seen, thinks he's passing a pillow instead of a hockey puck.

post-tank these sabres have the most tenure:

jack--6 yrs
risto--6
skunk--6
mccabe--6
gus--5+1 full season on ir
okposo--5

who's to blame for the sabres ineptitude since the tank years?

This is an important reed to more understand the human side of players. There's always a human side, even though we all try to run the team like EA Sports.

"When we talked contract it was, “Where do you want to be?” And we said “X” amount, they immediately said, “Nope, no chance.” And we were like, “Well, that’s where we’re at and there are like six other teams willing to go there.” They expected me to give up a ton of money to play there, like they were the only team in the league. When you’re a (restricted free agent) they play hard, hard, hardball, which is unfortunate, because then as soon as a guy gets a chance to get out there, he’s like “(frank) this, I’m gone.” It’s tough to treat players as nothing more than assets and then try to get undying loyalty from them as people."

"Right now in Columbus, you don’t get a sense that they really have a chance to win right away. It’s a smaller market. But when you have it together and going, you should try to keep it together as long as you can. And it’s not all a money thing, either. You need to let guys know, “Hey, listen, we love you here. You’re a huge part of things. This is what we want for you, and this is how we envision your career here, but this is all we can pay based on our salary-cap outlook.” I would have signed in Columbus for less than I got on the market. That didn’t matter to me. What mattered to me was having a chance to win and having a good role. If you’re going to try to sign free agents, you need to overpay. But when you have guys who are there and love it there — a lot of guys who are there love it — you have to keep it together and make them feel like they’re part of something."

I was fully on board a few weeks ago, now I'm starting to waiver. Do these guys only play great with no system in place. Seems like once they have to start thinking they make mistakes.

Maybe we should just use a cardboard cut out for a coach.

Their current roster pales in comparison with most of the teams they are playing. They played over their heads and got good goaltending for a stretch and now they aren't. It's just one or two mistakes a game that really hurt them, such as Bryson taking a nap in the last game.

Its almost like being traded to a new team and then playing teh team that just traded you would give you more of a spark.

He is who he is a 4th line guy.

Yet Hall is looking great in Boston. Probably going to sign an extension

I'M about to say it.

It was an awful trade.

He's trending more towards a 10-15 point player than he is a 10 goal player.
