I'm not defending Colliton at all. I'm stating that Gallant would not be able to do much more with this collection of poop. Their best center is a #3 at most right now. The have a bunch of guys that try hard and a ton of young inexperienced players. Scotty Bowman himself is not going to get this group to play well.

I matters very little who the coach is right now as long as he directs the team as the FO wants.

I doubt Gallant is the answer in the short term but if the organization is serious about a rebuild -
please get serious at the top.

For me
it's hire the best at every opportunity & for me it may not be Gallant but I know it's not Collitan.

Yeah - it’s the players skating out there - every single Panther goal the result of a breakdown of some sort.

I don’t know if Colliton will or won’t be the coach of a Cup contender - the evidence isn’t at all in yet. But right now he’s working with 6 or 7 or 8 rookies and 2nd-year skaters every night - plus one in net - and most nites they play hard, if not very effectively. And very little practice time this season.

I certainly won’t stop recognizing the bad plays they make - but I’m not willing to say that any of them (well, except for the usual suspects, of course) is a disaster at this point.

Let’s see what happens next season, when these guys have been in the Show and played together for a while.

I'll at least qualify my calling them disasters. I say this when we repeatedly see them trying to pass through 2-3-4 defenders, making weak backhand passes at the blue line, not taking an obvious outlet right in front of them instead of making prayer stretch passes.

I wonder if Foley will go off on Zadorov like he did on Karpotsev in the last game of the year.
