I realize that I'm totally to blame for scrolling through comments on Twitter, but I really have to ask:
Even if golf was "only a rich white man's sport" (it isn't), why does that make it wrong to demand that the golf courses get opened up?
It's an industry. It employs thousands of people.
Even rich white guys need exercise.
The ban is stupid.
I'll allow the argument that the golf industry should be calling for the opening of all outdoor activities - not just golf - but c'mon, they are lobbying for their livelihood.
The science says that closing golf courses won't help stop the spread of COVID.
Income levels of golfers is irrelevant. - Atomic Wedgie
Do they still have the ban of being around people outside from a different household?
If so it makes sense. I mean neither makes sense....but if golfers are going to whine then join the whiners of hangouts outdoors between friends or neighbours.
Maybe that’s where the “old rich white man” comment comes from. If you can pay the hefty price to golf you can hangout with your friends?

I'm surprised Ford antagonized Big Golf. I'm not a golfer, but there's a lot of holes on golf courses, and there's a lot of problems buried in those holes.

it’s funny how floater willi doesn’t need a “maintenance day and never has because he’s had alligator arms since he got laid out his rookie season🤦♂️
his last boo boo in a long time was a potential llorona virus infection due to his own misconduct🤦🏿♂️
he’s “floated” above any accountability for his greedy holdout, sh!tty season and subsequent dog d!ckings like being exposed to the most deadly virus in history and blowing off a team meeting🤦♂️
hopefully foligno, wayne train and jumbo joke get him straightened out before playoff quarantine👍🏿
what a fcucking joke🤦♂️
edit: nice alliteration👍🏿 - Skalapy
That was a nice goal he scored by going to the net last night. Or in the game before. Or that end to end play he started by covering for the D in his own zone.
Let's just say that back in the day, there were stories about him and his conduct in Toronto, which make this story not super shocking. - Atomic Wedgie
i have heard some of that also, but I wasnt aware of this incident (from 2014)

But it would contradict the Ford governments policies.
Us non golfers aren't allowed to get together with 3 friends but we could if we take up golfing?
But they should allow couples, residents of the same household and singles on the courses, and as far as I remember the driving range was done alone.

Good article.
Thanks - Atomic Wedgie
So let me get this straight, Doug Ford is now responsible for beer price increases because the brewers are now able to charge more ... and the free market economy has shown that people will pay a higher price. I guess Doug Ford is to blame for capitalism.
OTTAWA, ON, April 1, 2021 /CNW/ - Today, the federal government's excise tax on beer has increased for the fifth time in four years, and the second time during the pandemic. This increase will place additional stress on struggling bars and restaurants, as well as the 149,000 Canadians whose jobs are supported by the production and sale of beer.
Second beer tax increase during the COVID-19 pandemic harmful to bars, restaurants and Canada's economic recovery.
Despite ongoing calls by more than 250 businesses and organizations requesting that the federal government put a freeze on beer taxes to provide much-needed relief to the hospitality sector, one of the highest beer tax rates in the world – almost 50% of the price of beer – has gone up yet again.

You know what isn't buried in many of those holes.
