If I'm not mistaken I think the Pens fired all their assts. after last season, but they kept their coach, so it does happen. - Phillywhiteout
Not sure Sullivan had his choice of assistants like AV did. He inherited Jacques Martin, and Recchi, Gonchar were promoted by the team from within.

In all seriousness, there have been a number of positives. Just many more negatives.

Patrick and Lindblom got through the season without any major setbacks health wise. |

Lindblom being healthy and being able to resume his career is the # 1 positive. Totally agree. |

- JVR's return to relevance,
- Farabee's early coming out party,
- NP and Oskar surviving the entire season (more or less),
- Ghost getting healthy and turning a corner,
- Taryn turned out to be pretty good in the studio,
- Laughts could finally unpack his suitcase.
That's all I got. |

Most frustrating part to digest is having zero answers from how it went from one game from a ECF trip to just being better than New Jersey and Buffalo.
No way Niskanen's absence alone should have caused this. They really need to take a deep long look at what they got moving forward. To me, it needs to start being stripped down.
If they are serious about building a contending franchise, start now with moving off some of your bigger pieces now. Quit nickel and diming it every year.
Hockey is more like football than it is baseball and basketball. You can rebuild and turn things around quickly. By quickly I mean 3-5 years. |

I’ll give you Farabee early season breakout.
Love Oskar. I’ll never criticize this kid after what he’s been through.
The rest is a reach IMO. |

It’s exactly what you said. This defense can easily be reshaped. The Flyers shouldn’t really be married to anyone not named Provorov.
If the Flyers are truly interested in taking a run at Seth Jones for example, you might have to send Sanheim the other way who is a RFA. Signing Morin to a league minimum type of deal only makes more space and fills a spot so you can fit a guy like Seth Jones. Why would we even want to keep Justin Braun?
Is there really a belief that the Flyers are going to give Cam York every opportunity to play on this defense next season? Really? This fan base is ready to rush him up to ruin the young kid? Wow! - SuperSchennBros
As someone who saw a lot of York playing locally here... he’ll be just fine... if Drysdale can be more than ok Playing on away worse team... York will be fine playing with the big club. |

Anyone sick of G and Jake constantly complaining to the refs? They don't do themselves any favors. The way G was acting at the end of the game was not leadership. He seemed to let his emotions get the best of him, and looked like a child that doesn't get their way. Hard loss I know, being that they are eliminated from the playoffs, but you have to carry yourself with some self-respect when you're in his position. I love G, and I think he should be resigned (if they can get him for a reasonable price and term), but we need some big boys on this team that will shut up and go out there and play 60-minutes and not complain to the refs every chance they get. |

The seasons over, the guys frustrated. This organization has wasted his whole career. |

You guys got to watch Richards and Carts hoist the cup twice. That's positive....... |

You like players that don’t belong in the NHL. This kid can’t be trusted for a regular shift, he gets in every other rotation at best. - ClaudeFather
Samuel Morin is currently in the NHL and the Flyers are free to send him down and replace him with anyone else at anytime. Or put him at LW. Whatever. Either way, your comment is dumb. |

Theoretically, he has those qualities.
But in practice... his stick defending isn't that good. His blueline defense is non-existent. I have yet to see him establish himself in front of the net. He's chronically behind the play. He's a completely non-entity on breakouts and in the OZ. And when he is hell bent on being physical, he's running out of position and/or taking penalties. - Tomahawk
It’s called development. Feel free to give your analyst on Philip Myers. |

My comment is dumb, the kid is playing 12 minutes a night. Why do you think that is? |

The loss of Niskanen is over rated. We are playing completely different, last year was hard on the puck, causing a lot of turnovers. This year i havent seen that at all.
When we were winning last year, our forwards were working hard to get the puck back, they were relentless. Seems like a complete different system the way we are playing. We watch , last we we went and got it.

You could build a roster with the former flyers players that have one Stanley cups since leaving Philadelphia, including one head coach. We must be doing something right, right? |
