Can't question Beane at this point, he has earned our trust.

I want them to trade up to take Samuel or Williams out of UNC to complete the offense...

The problem is what would he trade? I think we almost have to get an OL in the 3rd round and we don't have a 4th. The fifths aren't worth much.

Probably have to move up a lot to get Samuel, kid from Syracuse might be more in the ballpark. Like you said gonna trust Beane, just don't want to give up are 3rd to move up, somewhere in the early 50's and think Pach's mentioned it shouldn't cost are 3rd.

Just gonna have to see how everything starts falling pick wise, it really couldn't have gone much better for them in the 1st.

A few things since I have been MIA:

Sam Reinhart is good very good at the hockey

Ryan Miller is the only goalie to win top goalie honors at the NCAA, AHL, NHL, and Olympic level. I am not sure if he gets in the Hall of Fame but he will get a serious look. I still think his number gets retired by the Sabres

I liked the pick last night, now trade up if possible and get Samuel (hopefully keeping the 3rd rounder this year to take an OL).

- Stripes77

I really dont want to see that happen. Sorry, he isnt deserving of this honor. We currently have too many numbers retired for a franchise that has never won anything.

11 and 39 should be the only two hanging up in the rafters.

I am not sure on UPL

I would like him to get another year in Rochester as the starter (with a real AHL lineup in front of him)

He is more deserving than Danny Gare the rest of the French connection and probably Patty

But I understand your sentiment about this franchise having too many numbers retired.

But if you look at his accomplishments here, other than 11 and 39 he is probably the most deserving

1st in franchise history in wins
2nd in save percentage
3rd in GAA average
2nd in shutouts
1st in games played
2nd in playoff wins

Boss,

I like Darnold. Cool he is boys with Allen and glad i can root for him now. Hope it blows up in the Jets' face, but I think they got the best QB in the draft.

What'll the Bills do today? Kinda hoping they just take their medicine and stay put in the order. I saw a multi-round mock at one point talking about a safety from Missouri. Joshua Bledsoe. I think they were saying like 4th round and the brief writeup sounded like a McBeane type player. Gotta make sure we have some insurance for Hyde and Poyer.

- Hatboro_Swords

Realistically 2 or 3 of the 5 qbs picked will bust.
Wilson looks great, but he may not even have time to throw the ball, or anyone to catch it.
Jets run and stop the run to a 3-13 season.

Hard for even the best players to succeed when everything else is a mess.

This reminds me of another situation, can't put my finger on it?

If they can get one of the decent corners left I will call this a very successful offseason, anything else added will be icing on the cake.

UPL has looked reasonable in the NHL for 3 games, but I think another year playing big minutes in Rochester is best long-term....
But it is GREAT to know he can handle it in the Buffalo.

I can't stand the number of jerseys that we've retired. I can't stand the fact that we have a President's trophy banner. I agree that 11 and 39 should be first and foremost.... but I'd still put Miller up there. He has the stats, personal achievements and longevity.

The number 30 is the most generic goalie number in the nhl. It would be dumb to retire that number

Thanks for the feedback

Based on that it sounds like a classic jets move

They will never have a QB

Or an offense

Since I'm the old fart here (but well aged!) I'll say leave Gare, Robert and Martin there to complete the fabled French Connection as well as the guy who banged in 50 and fought fearlessly for the club.
Gare would be a rockstar if he played now...fans would absolutely love him.
And Patty LaLa was unbelieveable..such a good leader and player.

You can keep Miller out if you don't want more in.
IMO those guys were and are legends.
