Ok, I know he is dry, and several people here think he's a pud of a coach, but this is damn funny.
Colliton on fans coming back: "It's always good to know when to shoot on the power play, so we'll get that." |

So about 5,000 fans per game, 10,000 total at average ticket price of $100 = $1M in revenue, plus parking, concessions and souvenirs. Rocky can at least pay for Kampf's salary. |

IMHO, that's a really good argument to decline the option on fans in the stands until they can come in full tilt boogie. From an expense point of view. |

Here is question for theo and the panel if the defensive players are not getting the system JC is trying to teach and employ on the ice shouldn't be up to JC and coaching staff to change the system that is better suited for the players they have now? Then in the offseason reevaluate the players that don't match the system what players do and what players are needed for that system. Because the defense has been a big problem and very inconsistent the last few years imo. - Scott1977 How can you tell they're not getting the system and simply not very good when half of them are straight out of kindergarten?

Thank you. The team defense was garbage for the last year and a half of Q's tenure which was a completely different system.
It is not the system they use. They have a bunch of either completely raw or not very good players trying to get through a season and/or learn how to play. If the FO finds that JC is not getting through to the players, or is not implementing what they want, he will be tossed.
Embrace the process. There are no other choices if you want to stay a Hawk fan. |

What about paying the employees, the cost of opening up kitchens, stores, etc? to me it is not worth it, not for 25%.

Well that is what we don't know. Is it the system? Or the players? Or both?
I agree some of the JC bashing is unnecessary and he deserve credit for the development we are seeing in some of the young guys.
However, how do we know JC's system actually works. He's never had success with it. The default should not be "oh he doesn't have the players".
I'd love to know the differences in JC's man to man system versus Trotz's or what is run in Carolina.

It was hot garbage but how can you conclude it isn't the system or the system isn't making it worse? JC has never proven his system works. If we see the same exact issues next year is it still all on the players? If no one can implement JC's system on the ice then that is a major issue.
It's like Nagy and the Bears. We here about this great offensive system but it never gets implemented on the field.

Bring in 25% of the employees, open 25% of the kitchens and stores. Problem solved.

I'm not saying that the system does not have something to do with it. I am saying that the abilities and talents of the players have a much greater influence on the results.
John Hynes. "Garbage" in NJ, and apparently very smart in NSH. What is the biggest difference there?
Trotz: Won nothing in NSH, then won the cup in WSH.
Was Q all of a sudden a garbage coach, or had the talent eroded too far for any system to be effective.
There is a minimum talent threshold needed to be competitive. A 30% PP and hot goaltending cannot sustainably make up for that. |

Would the parking revenue offset the cost of the lot attendants and Chicago PD, and the concesssion and souvenir revenue offset the cost of the employees running those areas?
What's a sweater going for, $100? Can pay for a store employee for 5 or 6 hours. |

Because its been a problem since JC took over. Maybe its personal players not buying into the system not being taught the right way in which everyone is on the same page. But with the young it will take time to understand but for the vets they should able to adjust and set a example imo. |

The young i get will take time to learn and grow into the system but a lot of times vets seem confused out of position and lost in coverage. When man on man works its very successful just look at the islanders. Also a full training camp will help a lot for next season.

The game(s) before that will be limited to friends and family of the players. It’s spelled out in the full press release. |

They're over the hill or fing boys playing against men. They get out maneuvered and manhandled because they either suck or are too inexperienced. It's the talent plain and simple. If you want to bash JC that's one thing but to continue to say they should be able to play well is crazy. They're college and AHL players or else over the hill. If a real NHL team can't make them look bad something is really wrong. |
