Just to put this season for Matthews in perspective, in the 2013 season, Ovechkin had 32 goals and 56 points in 48 games.

Matthews, in 45 games, has 35 goals and 59 points.


Ovechkin won the Hart that year. Matthews should be a finalist, at least.
