a well-rested Gallagher will be a nice addition come playoff time - Pat1993
the flip side to the coin is that no one is ever sharp when they first come back and the Habs don't have the luxury of waiting on him to find his way. i wouldn't expect a ton from him if he's back for the playoffs. |

does anyone understand the emergency call up situation? as i understand it, if Tatar/Byron come back, Caufield and Evans have to go back to the TS and cannot be recalled until the playoffs, unless there's another injury? - DoubleDown
With Drouin out, one of them can stay in the line-up as an emergency call up. But when Tatar or Byron are healthy, yes one of them will have to return to the TS and it looks like they are using their last call-up on Romanov so they won’t be able to recall that guy unless there is another injury. |

bah, he might be a bit rusty to start but I'm confident he'll find his timing and reflexes pretty quickly

i think he'll bring energy and he doesn't have to be sharp to park his caboose in the paint. but there's so much more that Gallagher brings on the forecheck and in board battles... i think that's the stuff that will be off. |

true, that very well may be the case... but his presence alone in the lineup should help improve the team's morale and determination, after a couple of games it'll be like he was never gone |

it's such a shame because when Gallagher went down, that line was really starting to produce. been a god damn poop show since that night. |

exactly, and that's what is kinda sad about it, that they couldn't muster up some sort of collective effort to at least compensate a bit for his absence

#Habs Ducharme says there’s uncertainty surrounding Byron and Tatar’s status for tonight and that “there’s a chance” Romanov will be brought up from the taxi squad as the team’s fourth and final post-deadline recall. |

I'd take a rusty Gallagher over pretty much anyone in the current line-up.

now we've got Perry-Kotkaniemi-Armia. could time their skating with a (frank)ing sundial. |

Sergachev, huh? Sheeeeeeeeeet. - sokosteve
Leafs are not immune for bad trades either... This one is particularly dramatic...
" In 1989, the Leafs traded their first-round pick in the 1991 NHL entry draft to the New Jersey Devils for defenseman Tom Kurvers. Kurvers scored 55 points in 89 games during his time with the Leafs before they traded him to the Canucks.
On the other hand, the New Jersey Devils used the Leafs draft pick to select, the now Hall of Fame defenseman, Scott Niedermayer third overall. Niedermayer went on to win the Norris Trophy, Conn Smythe Trophy and four Stanley Cups, while the Leafs went on to win...nothing."

You really didn't need to go 30 years back for a bad Leafs trade. |

A few more:
Rask for Raycroft
Two first rounders ( Dougie Hamilton and Tyler Seguin) for Kessel
Daryl Sittler for spare parts
There are a lot more which is why we haven't won a playoff round since the iPhone was invented

The author lost me in the first paragraph Going with the old Lazy narrative that the Flames play a “tight game” and the Maple Leafs play an open game again. |

i kinda like Suzuki and Caufield. they're a natural fit so why not put em together in a game you're likely to A) lose and B) chase all night. |
