So to win the cup they should cast away the second overall pick that is 22 years old who has played less than 190 games? Patrick is working through a long term issue. I agree eventually a decision will need to be made. I do not agree that Patrick is a finished product at this point.

As a fan I hate that he is not lighting it up. But I also have patience.

- mickel25

Patience is fine to a point. Good GMs have to figure out when its best to cut bait with a player, while that player still can be considered a trade asset. I think that time has come for Patrick an the Flyers. IMO there is just too much water under the bridge here for Patrick to succeed. Too much pressure of being the number 2 overall pick. The Flyers IMO have given him enough time to show them something, and he has not. The best option for the Flyers and Patrick at this point is to trade him to another team to get a fresh start, where the pressure is off and he can just play without expectations. This is the only reason another team would be interested in Patrick at this point, namely he is 22 years old and could still become a viable NHL player. If the Flyers wait longer, they may lose the chance to trade him on even this premise.

You could be right. Fletch has a lot of tough decisions to make this offseason. Making those decisions is why he gets paid the big bucks.

I love this team, I do. Half of this fan base I can really live without. You’ll see a large majority show Sympathy while Lindblom fights through cancer but Nolan Patrick who is younger, less experienced and has skated/played less than anyone on this squad the passed two years, no sympathy at all. They call him tinker bell, say he has no balls. Do you guys even think before you speak? Knowing what we know about Lindros’ career and you guys can allow yourselves to breathe these words. He’s 22. The guy took a puck to the head by Myers. There was no concern? A lot of you guys on here are trash!
- SuperSchennBros

I took a puck to the head from someone much smaller than Myers and I wasn't right for 9 months. Was it measurable? No; doctors thought I was fine. Was I just "off"? Yes, totally. It was worse than getting beaned in baseball.

It's a bunch of guys playing like they're trying not to make a mistake.

Allison and Zamula apparently didn't get the memo that they should be playing scared.

- Tomahawk

The coaching can be blamed for this in my opinion. Like a struggling player gripping its stick too tight, the coach has been too tight on the reins on certain players after making a mistake.

Now, I could be wrong, however, I think the majority of fans who have issues with Patrick actually have issues, for the most part, with the organization more-so than specifically the player himself. He just gets the brunt of the pissing and moaning.

He represents a missed opportunity, he represents what’s been wrong with the organization over the past decade.

IIRC it was Hitchcock who said that one of the chief responsibilities of a head coach is to keep their players on the road and out of the ditch. Almost the entire Flyers team is in the ditch right now.

You won't get anything for Patrick, i think they should resign, he will be cheap and hopefully he can turn into a solid 40point guy. What do you think you could get for him in a trade? I think nothing of value, better to hold and hope.

Chiarelli gave up two top-sixty picks (one of which turned into Barzal) for D+3 Griffin Reinhart, so you never know.

Most likely, Patrick is a component of a larger trade, in lieu of draft picks or one of our better prospects.

If you truly love this team, then why don't you want them to win games? Its not that people don't have sympathy for any person, whether they be a professional athlete or not. Its about a professional hockey team winning games, its about getting the best players you can and putting them in the best position to win. This entire year Patrick has been healthy and playing 13 minutes a night and about 2+ minutes on the PP. This is his 3rd full season in the league. Its not unsympathetic to state what he is based on his actual play, and the results have not been good for him nor the team. Yes its bummer Patrick got hurt. Yes its a bummer that Patrick was a waste of the 2nd overall pick it the draft. But the bottom line is if you love a team, you want them to win, and the reality is Patrick is one of the reasons this team does not win that much!

I don’t understand your point? Was this much bigger guy than Myers a 6’6” professional hockey player because Myers is close to 6’5”. Have you ever endured over a year of Migraines and potential concussion syndrome prior to this shot to the head?

He was agreeing with you by pointing out that he got hit in the head by someone much smaller than Myers and was off for months.

This was in response to those who were saying that the puck wasn't shot "that hard" and therefore Patrick shouldn't have been hurt by it.

Not only losing to teams with 18 and 10 game losing streaks, they gave up 6 goals in each game.

You can’t make up how bad this team is.

Dear Sir,

This is a statement of concern that I have read many of your recent posts with considerable personal distress.

The distress arises from the truism that you are treading on my domain. I am the poster who makes sweeping negative characterizations of the IQ and personality of posters. I was the first to do it, I was the most persistent in doing it, and that modus operandi is uniquely associated with me.

This blog is composed of living beings and is thus itself a living being .

Living beings often have many arms, many eyes, and many flies on them. They never however have more than 1 arsehole.

As such, sir, I ask you to please cease and desist in your shtick that is surely just a passing phase.

Yours in indignation,

Pt21

Yet if they won you would have been on here complaining that in winning they are costing themselves draft positions.

That being said, last night was freaking atrocious to lose that way. That go ahead goal that Elliot gave up was about as bad as I have seen.

The problem with Patrick has nothing to do with his injuries or sympathy for his circumstances. It has everything to do with his lack of compete when he has played. You can miss time with injuries, that’s one thing, but when you play after an injury shouldn’t lead to constantly pealing off and not finishing a check. It shouldn’t lead to not getting into lanes and blocking shots. He brings no offence....he brings no defence and is actually a liability when he’s on the ice. Christ at least attempt to play the game the right way.
I could care less if I offend the woke crowd with the hockey knowledge of a flee on a dogs ass. Patrick has been a massive disappointment and honestly doesn’t deserve the ice time he gets. If he wasn’t the 2nd overall pick he would be long gone. As far far as calling me trash, (frank) you you piece of poop.....oh and have a nice day.
