Forward Jonathan Drouin will take an indefinite leave of absence from the team for personal reasons.

He was placed on long-term injured reserve by the club. We ask everyone to respect his privacy.

- Scabeh

Ah never a good sign.

Hopefully he gets better and also hope Habs fans aren’t hard on him here.

I don't know if you're referring to the strategy that prioritizes black and ethnic neighbourhoods. It would be good if they would stop politicizing and pandering. I am all for recognizing that there are less affluent neighbourhoods and areas that require people to go to work and place themselves at risk because the CERB or EI or what-have-you isn't helping them enough, and I think prioritizing those people as at-risk individuals is perfectly fine. I'd rather not make it about race or anything else, since that's not really an objective measure of why people are at risk or not. But . . . whatever. Hamilton isn't particularly well run.
- Monkeypunk

I don't think you quite understand, that whites are now & going forward, at the back of the line.

Get used to it. It's what bureaucrats at all levels of govt, especially the ex-flunkies at the provincial level, want to see.

It’s blacks and other minorities in certain neighborhoods. Also, blacks and the other targeted groups represent 19% of the population but 51% of the cases

Right on cue, as predicted, ex- flunky chimes in.

I honestly hope the guy is ok.

But it's funny how things work out.

The way he was playing lately (perhaps justified by whatever is keeping him out right now), he was doing more harm than good.

Except it's not prioritizing the neighbourhoods.

It's prioritizing people based on skin colour.

- Atomic Wedgie

That's right. Two people doing the same job, having the same economic status, one white/ one black. Black gets priority just on racial grounds. That's what Canada has come to.

The ex-provincial bureaucrat flunkies support this. Myself, I'm against any racial preferences.

Should be occupation, income based if anything.

Amazing story in the Athletic about the friendship between Gord Downie and Thornton. They were very tight. Thornton was one of the people able to see him during the final months of his life. Downie wrote the song Safe is Dead from a saying of Thornton’s

No idea.

The guy sounded pretty defeated the other day saying his wrist never truly healed but it could be anything at this point.

COVID can't tell the difference between skin types.

It can tell the difference between socio-economic levels. The infection rate vs. income level is incredibly linear.

The people in those neighbourhoods will have the same rate of infection, regardless of skin colour.

Everyone in that neighbourhood needs the vaccine sooner.

Everyone in that neighbourhood deserves the vaccine sooner.

If you are in east Toronto, I suggest you run out now and put in your patio cushions.

We just got a pretty good dousing - it came out of nowhere.

Think the fans are more apt to get on their GM more for making that deal and bringing him in. He hasn’t really been what they wanted or expected there.

Still do hope he gets better but not sure he will be with the Habs long term.
