Of course it's well written it's Carol

Doesn't change much however. FLA, ARX/PHX, CAR and few other clubs should have been relocated or retracted years ago. The league should be retracting not expanding but it is what it is. But Buttman wants 20 teams in the PO's so it's coming and the talent pool will continue to get watered down.

The very well written story shows that if it isn’t a poopshow organization it will grow and succeed. How is the growth of hockey a bad thing?
it won’t seem so watered down when all the FL kids start making their mark
As one who has seen hockey here go from non-existent to now where I’m stopping my car to wait for kids to drag the net out of the street is a great thing.

Jim Benning memorial quote of the day... this time Olli Juolevi comparisons.

"He's a safe, steady player. He plays a little bit like Nicklas Lidstrom. He reads the game so well.”

Comparing OJ to one of the greatest d-men to ever play the game is super special.

A lot of scouts thought that about him, some even thought he should have gone top 3 and were surprised he fell to 5th. Honestly, if not for injuries he would have likely hit the NHL sooner and been further along in his development.

Hansen with the truth bomb

https://twitter.com/Sport.../1387173663494086661?s=19

How has Jim or Travis not learned from what Yannick said years ago. Yet we see leivo, vesey, virtanen, macewen, LE, etc always getting slotted in.

Always liked Hansen, he's a hard worker. And he's right, you need a Toffoli on this team to push someone like Hoglander down, it's a shame Benning never realized that despite everyone and their dog knowing it.

Top 6 talent is top 6 talent. Slotting bottom 6 players as a stop gap for an injury is one thing, but not establishing proper top 6 talent and continuing to use bottom 6 talent in those roles is the reason we aren't a good team. Hansen was bang on with toffoli, he was a proper top 6 talent, and could even play top line if needed, and Jim improperly allocated cap to bottom 6. It's a shame.

Canucks fans need to learn patience. If they want to fix the top 6 it needs to be done through the draft. Podkolzin and hopefully a center this year. Allows us to keep Miller on the wing

I actually am happy FLA is doing well with the Panthers, Bucs and Rays there. People there deserve some good teams as they don't subscribe to alot of Covid bullsh!t lol

Having said that franchises like ARZ,FLA and CAR have bled 20-40 million in cash for seasons now if not decades. Building a new rink might create 'some' interest but ultimately pushing Hockey in Non Hockey markets just turn redundant. If FLA can somehow make it work good on them I guess and get their minor Hockey program to follow like Nashville did it's one of the best in the States. Growth of Hockey is fine if it makes sense in the proper markets. Bleeding cash for 20 years to keep Hockey in Markets where it won't ultimately succeed is well...kinda dumb.

We are at a point now where 'growing the league' is watering down the talent pool so bad alot of the games are unwatchable. Where most teams used to have three great lines and two solid D pairings not its all down to 2 good lines and one decent defensive pairing. 40 teams in the league is not a goal....it's stupidity and that's where things are heading unfortunately. my take anyways. Best to you in FLA man

I wish them both luck in finding different teams in the off season

- Codes1087

Chances are they will both be gone but Sutter back for 1 season is fine. It's the D that needs the full revamp around Hughes and Schmidt.

Top 6 is fine with Petey Bo Miller and Boeser with Hogs and Pods to round it out if Pods turns out to be as advertised. Pearson can drop down if need be but will see where it goes. When Petey is back healthy we will be fine.

It sure is. Next year will be awkward with Pod and Hog both being on the team, it's not a given that either will be able to play top 6 right away, but you can't exactly sign another top 6 fwd now with Pearson locked in.

That would be nice for next year...

Petey - Miller - Hog

Boeser - Bo - Pod

Pearson - ? - ?

Double shift Beagle on the 3rd and 4th line and that solves some depth issues
