It's definitely affecting them. I hope it doesn't lead to permanent repercussions for any of the players or coaches.
Unfortunately, it will also be used as an excuse for pre-existing issues.

Who will use it as an excuse?

What number is "We ran into a hot goaltender"?

That's my favourite excuse because the only way we win games is by having one.

Yeah. Maybe. But new ideas aren’t always better. Say what you will about Benning, but he’s been the Canucks best drafting gm, even with his misses. He’s found value throughout the draft. I’d give him one more and then hand him his swingline stapler and send him to the basement.

Sorry. I meant fire the GM and then replace him with a new GM.

Hire a Prez to oversee him.

It's a shame they didn't hire Benning for head scout and left the managing of a hockey team to someone who had done it before.

Here's an idea, let's hire Trevor Linden to help us find and hire a GM, you know because he does that all the time.

Rookie prez, rookie gm, rookie coach. What could go wrong?

Edit:

And then when the rookie coach is fired replace him with...

A rookie coach.

To be fair he's also had the most top picks. He's had 5 top 10 and 4 in the top 7, and we're still on pace for another one. In this day and age of scouting and technology I'd hope you'd hit on a few picks.

Never liked the TL Prez move.
Then Desjardin was a disaster.
