Conditioning is the reason why. Imagine all 3 born the same day and going through the same training routines, who is better? Lemieux > Gretzky > McDavid.
- Retinalz

maybe, we'll never know. Literally everything is better today about how athletes go about things. Training, conditioning, technology, understanding of the systems and strategies within the game, technique, diet... What I'm really saying is that McDavid would stand out in any era he was part of, like Gretz and Super Mario did in theirs.

If we play like this against Edmonton, mcdavid is going to get 20 points in 4 games.

I cannot believe Benning will keep his job after this year. How many losses do you guess it would take to overcome the COVID excuse before Jimbo gets the can? Or is there no amount of losses that will change his mind?

Hindsight is 20/20 whitey. Benning cant predict pandemics or what the cap will be

My hot take is that if McDavid was 20% slower, he'd be still be an all star but about peak-Seguin in terms of impact. His speed gives him incredible advantage that his skills (some still elite, others above average) exploit to a higher degree. Make him as fast as Boeser and I'd guess he's neutralized considerably

NJ went 2-0 after covid break. 8 losses followed that i believe.

He's damn lucky there was one IMO. Not to make light of the pandemic or whatnot, but he's got horseshoes up his ass for a flat cap and COVID hitting his team because they were poop before they caught it, and on paper its hardly better than Skille, Chaput, Megna, Vey garbage of the Willie era. Same age range too sadly enough so can't even say we're bad because we've got kids playing

I want a new GM….but I think it would take a truly horrendous finish for Benning to be pushed out

Green would similarly be gone if that happens

“Horrendous” —> last in the North, finish out with 14-15 losses out of the 19 post-return games.

Canucks just back after Covid, Green pulls his mask down in a fit of rage and spits all over his players.
Fined?

I forgot that the Canucks won Saturday, so we aren't getting swept by Ottawa which I would've said be bad enough. But I think you're right, barring a 10-game losing streak I don't think anything will change

I believe that if they lose tonight they will be in last place in the division.
