He will be worth alot "if" moved could set us up big for the future - gerbe75pts
I can't see them moving one of Eichel and Reinhart.. Could be wrong but to me it feels like both are gone or neither will be.

I took a glance at the NHL standings for the first time in...forever. So Carolina is....good ? I had no idea. Well, good for them. |

Not bad for a 6th and Carolina is eating 7m of his cap. |

Buffalo only has them self to blame honestly sam could ask for 8-9m and he deserves that right and buffalo Basically backed themselves up in a corner
4 options
1)He signs long-term
2) signs 1 year deal
3) Gets to arbitration they give him a one year deal
4) we trade him |

In a flat cap I’d be surprised if he gets more than $7M per.
Look at what Toffoli got.
If he wants $8M-$9M per then I’d be working the phones looking to make a hockey trade like the Mantha-Vrana deal

Toffoli is an older player and with him Translating to centre his agent will also use that to Gain more money let's not forget centers get payed more Because their very valuable

The good news he has extremely good value for a trade but you're Unlikely to get the same talent back |

I’d offer him 7x7.
Take it or leave it.
If he doesn’t want it then start working the phones and see what we can get for him before we lose him for nothing next year |

I'd see if he would go for a covid bridge deal - 3/$21
At the end, he's a 28 year old UFA when the cap goes back up and there's a new TV deal.
Can't pay Sam Reinhart $9m. Just can't. Certainly not in this economy |

The good news is you have comparables like Josh Anderson, Chris Kreider and, yeah, David Pastrnak. I don't think it should be hard for the Sabres to get him around 6.5, and maybe even 7, for some length of time.
