He's toast.

He’s made of glass. He will likely never be a guy this team can count on for a full season. I’d be looking to trade him.

Being made of glass and unable to avoid big hits isn’t a good combination.

Good thing Zadorov played tonight though...otherwise this team would’ve been totally outclassed. Plus the mere thought of his dominant physical presence prevented any of his teammates from getting roughed up any.

Hawks will win it, and draft 2021 Alexander Daigle/Patrik Stefan.

That is not true. I've been complaining about him since the March 7th game against Tampa. Subban stole the Friday night game by standing on his head and was the first star of the game. The jubilation at the end of that game was incredible. This team was together and firing on all cylinders. Subban's miraculous game was rewarded by sitting on the damn bench the following game. Colliton broke the momentum and the confidence of not only the goalie but possibly the entire team by not rewarding Subban the Sunday game. The Hawks took a 3-0 lead on that Sunday afternoon game with Lankinen in goal and they lost 6-3.

This is an extremely young team and I just didn't agree with how he handled that situation. The Hawks then proceeded to go something like 1-7 in the next eight games.

I guess we'll never know if that really had any effect at all, but I do know that I was extremely disappointed in his goaltending choice for that game. They really haven't found their game since.

I am in the camp with many others that I don't want him here next year. There has to be a better coach for this team that can teach a defensive system that works.

This is a great post

It points to coaching feel - experience & gut sense.

Another Bowman fail. Yesterday we were talking about how improved Mittelstadt and Puljarjarvi are this year. Stan should have traded Boqvist for one of them last off season.

I thought the same and also that it was way more important than the Hawks top two centers not being able to play coupled with the acknowledgement by upper management they were in a rebuilding year...as well as starting the two aforementioned goalies who everyone questioned if either could even be a starting goalie.

Great Post!

That’s what most of the posters here thought at the beginning of the season.

Know, your wrong. It’s been proven tough guys prevent the other team from targeting players.

Hynes, DeBoer, Laviloette and Gallant were all fired around the same time. One hasn t been rehired. The same one that wore out his welcome with 2 teams really fast. I don t think it’s a no-brained that Gallant is the savior.

Gallant's shelf life is less than two years. Torts less than three.

This season will be the 7th time in his 8 season career as a head coach, that Colliton’s team will finish in the bottom half of the league in GAA. In Sweden. In the AHL. In the NHL.

Some would say that’s a concerning trend.

- scottak

JFC Scotty Fing Bowman couldn't coach this team to the upper half stop blaming the coach. It seems personal it really does. Colliton deserves coach of the year votes for as long as he kept this team in the hunt. Hustle only gets you so far. The defense obviously does not have the personnel. The goalies belong in Kindergarten. Who are the great Forwards. Yeah it's the coaches fault...

Defensive system doesn't mean shi- when you have real NHL players playing against AHL and College players. Timmo Timonnen was one weak link in the playoffs. We have 6 weak links but it's not the playoffs, just the SC Champs we're playing.

Look Pallie! Let's get our facts straight. Gerard Gallant would have these Lavender sniffers competing for the Cup this year and winning it the next.

Fact!

I’m expecting a busy off season with not too many jobs secure:

- Kane
- Toews
- Keith
- DeBrincat
- Dach
- Hagel
- Stillman

There are some yoots who could/should return

- Boqvist
- Kalynuk

New faces:

- Reichel
- Borgstrom

Free agents who should return for the right price:

- Hinostroza
- Suter

At risk (not all will go)

- Strome
- Kubalik
- Zadorov
- de Haan
- Murphy
- Delia
- Lankinen
- Subban
- Kampf
- Kurashev
- Nylander
