So he replaces Kampf at 4C?

Hoping he's healthy and ready to go but wondering what that will all look like after a year away from hockey.

If he can come back at the level he left would obviously be huge for the Hawks.

- HawkintheD

Toews has played hockey his whole life. I don't think a year away is going to impact him that much. Provided, of course, that he is healthy.

Doughty has had kind of a career resurrection this season.

He wasn't vg the last 2. Let see how long it last.

I'd take the over.....

By the way, you think Crawford was elite, right?

Spencer Knight is scheduled tonight to start his second game this season.

How far off is Aaskrov and Comassaro. A couple years at least. If either signs and plays AHL next season, they conceivably get recalled end of season for a couple games. Knight and the aforementioned probably not NHL ready even next season. Meanwhile another goaltender could be avaliable when we draft '21.

The NYI Sorokin apprenticeship was a couple KHL seasons. Solid in back up role but great support by the best defense coach in the league and, correspondingly, a very good defense.

I don't imagine that Bowman will draft another goaltender, at least not round one. We have heard that Stan tried to move up In the draft ostensibly to grab Aaskirov - or was it to sneak in and pull Guhle out from Begeron radar. Unsubstantiated rumors back then. Our goaltenders are fine, good enough for two or more seasons. Then we can see what we have in Comesaro.

Meanwhile, I predict C Hart will be just fine, Minny has a good tender rookie in net, and Sorokin seems pretty good. Askarov, Knight merely whet the appetite to see as any highly rated skater at another position

The kid this draft plus other youngsters in net = five top young goaltenders. Once established they may turnnout better than Laakinen.

But that is ok. Improve by drafting while omitting goaltenders is fine with me. Although there are some jewels out there.

Maybe cut down Keith's mins a bit too. Would like to see Gaudette draw in. Along with Z I think (hope) Strome gets dealt in the offseason.
- HawkintheD

I could see strome and Zadorov packaged together to a team that needs a center and a defense like Columbus for example imo.

Not sure a team takes that pair at near $7M without a sweetener, which the Hawks should not do.

Regardless , Knight is the best of the three.

Looks like Zito has a deal and Dreiger is a soon to be Kracken

Teams are just not going to feel pressured to give up an early draft choice for average to below average talent like those two. Neither has great upside, either, so no team believes either is more than a stop gag measure for a while.

Oh MAYBE a Boston or Winnipeg wants a big body punishing type to add. They don't want Zadorov badly enough than to offer a middling prospect a mid draft choice or nothing to really want to get from them

Except the return would probably have to include Domi, no thank you.

Depends what the return coming back to the hawks would be. Both also could be dealt separately or stay we all will know more in the offseason.

Just a opinion and thought don't get much for either one maybe a 5th or 6th rounder for Z and strome a 4th. Or low level prospect.

LA HAWK
please kindly inform what postion and what sort of players you feel Chicago needs most.

I am for a center, another center or forward, then a dman if magical the best player available in the draft happened to play said position. Additionally, at least one forward is a grinder capable willing but has top line ability. The other is a top skill guy whom is strong on his skates

If someone like Brandt is available later in round one, fine, take him. But I do not foresee us picking up an additional first round pick.

Just speculating on the return no one really knows what the return would be. The question do strome and Z fit with the hawks going forward yes or no? If not then trading them both either together or seperate would be the next step.

Imagine a 4th for each, in other words two 4th round is realistic. Maybe a 3rd but kind of doubt that renumeration happens. IMHO

Plain and simple the best player available. From there all the rest plays out until you are a true cup contender and then you can try and fill a weakness.

This year, the rookies got their feet wet, but it still was not a real NHL season. No training camp, no long road trips, no playing the rest of the league except the 7 other teams. Would like to see how the first 20 games shakes out next year before I say what the Hawks need to address.

Well with Toews out, even with Strome not producing points as much as in prior years, he is the best offensive center you have (sorry Dach has not proven he can put up points, and the PP is currently definitely better with Strome on it than Dach). I don't think that is worth giving away for a 4th round pick. He is signed through next year, not like you have a long term commitment to him.

If deHann is taken by the Kracken, i wouldn't mind a 2 year deal for Zadorov at whatever Stan is offering for him. $4 mil. no, but Stan holds all the cards as he is a RFA not a UFA, and I doubt anyone is going to offer sheet him at $4 mil.

I would think a young NHL defenseman worth a 2nd-3rd except teams are hording draft choices. More likely to get a player. Same for Strome.

Lots of games on TV, if you can get the various cable / streaming services.

The 1,000 out of market streamed games on ESPN+ - is that a replacement for Center Ice, or for the NHL TV streaming service?

- StLBravesFan

Not if you're in Australia ... best I can tell you go from being able to get every game with NHL TV to exactly ... none (not sure about TBS/TNT - but ESPN+ does not stream here, plus I think I read in Europe either.).

I imagine Europe is maybe a bigger consideration than Australia - but I mean, it isn't nearly as great as has been officially marketed.

The good news is that he is back at center. If he doesn't start to grab his opportunities and assert his spot on the team he is going to turn into another afterthought quickly. I hope he does the former.. It would be a win for the team.

Good points still think dach would be better on lw imo but still think he will be a beast and very good player at whatever position he plays. A lot has to do with towes health so keeping strome might be a wise decision. Z keep him or trade him

I’ll go with the third choice.
