Chabot was really flying out there. It would have been nice for that goal to have counted.

This is what Chabot should look like more often, with proper deployment vs. playing him out of necessity for 26min/GP. When they start having someone like Bernard-Docker providing his RHD support, and then Sanderson in position on a 2nd pairing that can actually handle tough minutes, you'll start to see Chabot dominate games more offensively.
Either way, it's another success for a young team that's starting to learn how to win NHL games. They're still a bottom-5 team, but are certainly trending more positively than any of the other teams in that group. In fact, you can pretty clearly chart the team's improvement by breaking the season down into 10GP segments, and noting where they developed more offensive confidence and improved their defensive play.
G01-10: 1W-9L, 24GF-48GA, -24 Differential
G11-20: 4W-6L, 23GF-32GA, -9 Differential
G21-30: 4W-6L, 32GF-41GA, -9 Differential
G31-40: 4W-6L, 27GF-29GA, -2 Differential
G41-49: 5W-4L, 27GF-21GA, +6 Differential
Being 9-10 in their last 19 GP, with a +4 goal differential is pretty telling in terms of why they're giving teams like Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver fits down the stretch. They're punching way above what their record would suggest right now, which should give some genuine optimism to the fan base as they continue to add more quality talent to the roster.
