This topic is going to get old fast.

I have watched most of the highlights since he has been in Florida and many of his assists are secondary and many of his goals are from cleaning up trash in front of the net, but he is also putting in a lot of effort I did not see with his time in Calgary.

I am happy the guy has found his place and will eat crow if he can keep this up. If he can, it speaks volumes as to his lack of integrity because he only played in beast mode maybe 5 regular-season games a year, and then playoffs. If he could have been playing like this all along then why didn't he?

He played with JG and SM and could not produce. He played with Back's and Frolik, who made a lot of players look better than they actually are, and he did not produce. Yes, his game excels when the refs put the whistle away. But how many horrible offensive zone penalties did the guy take for being out of position?

The Flames should have let him develop in the AHL. The coaching carousel has been an embarrassment. But it's not all on the organization. All top-line players start out on the 3rd or fourth line and then show that they can do more. When given the opportunity Sam never grasped it.

Yeah, happy that he's finding some success, but more than a little disappointed that he couldn't find the motivation to do so here.
