The only series lost due to inability/unwillingness to match intensity was the play-in last year. Schiefele injury was the nail in the coffin. There was enough size up front to compensate for less physical play but the back end got demolished every play. This year’s edition has the same flaw. Stanley is the closest thing we have to a solution. Space in scoring areas will be a war zone and our guys are like bringing the cavalry to a tank battle.

So what is the deal with Scheifle. Looks disinterested last game, gliding around with no sense of urgency. Can't play head to head with McJesus or Mathews line.

We know he had ruffled feathers earlier, Wheeler, Connor make money than him, etc, coach has allowed him to play an offense game with little emphasis on back checking, so what is the deal?

Is it the coach? Or other guys make more than him? Wants out of Wpg? Use to be this nice genuine kid, now hard to handle, what's his deal? Anyone have an answer?

Scheifle or Eichel? Who is the better center considering one team has been decent and the other terrible? Would a GM go there?

If it’s modified and based on when the contract was signed, it’s quite possible it doesn’t have Buffalo. This speculation is based on proximity to T.O. And being a hockey market.

I’d probably make an offer at Schiefele + Samberg + 2nd. That contract of Eichel is hefty, so dollar for dollar Schiefele provides much more value. Maybe I’d bend at turning the 2nd to a 1st, depending where it slots.

It took injuries to Ehlers and Lowry for Maurice to finally roll Scheifele-PLD-Stastny down the middle. Nice to also see Appleton and Copp finally getting rewarded for their stellar play. Too bad it took injuries for all that to happen.

Josh Morrisey is over rated around the league. I am not saying this is fair, but I honestly believe Morrisey and Shief for eichel would be accepted by Buffalo. And I’d do it in a heartbeat!!!

It's a modified, and this is the first year it kicks in. Every year he gets to submit a list of 10 teams he can't be traded too. I think Buffalo will be very high on the No trade list.

I think Scheifele is a very good player, one of the best in the league. Top 20 for sure.
Eichel though is 4 years younger and could be top 5 in the league, he is that good in my opinion
