Did not make any sense So you believe Subban played well and letting in two goals a road hockey goalie would be scolded for is fine . Boqvist been the best Defensemen I guess it's a Low bar If that puck off the chin had given him a concussion he would be a lot more trouble then he is he needs to go to the A were the game is a step slower and he can become better in all aspects of the game not getting Drilled every time he retrieves a puck would be a good start .He was deprived of that learning curve and went from zero to sixty in a flash most all defenseman need sometime in the minors before they join the big club . - oldduffman
IDK, this year is so different, some junior leagues, some colleges didn t even play, some reduced schedules, the A starts late, and constant COVID interruptions for minors and colleges, how much learning, game experience would they get this year? |

Good point LA it has been a bit of mess but he could be down there now it may be a mute point as management seem to have made up their mind and it will be sink or swim for the kid health be dammed |

About a month ago I posted that Boqvist takes an awful lot of huge hits. He doesn’t seem to know how to avoid taking the hits or rolling off hits. Keith in his prime seldom took a big hit, and it wasn’t like he wasn’t in the thick of things. I have no idea if playing in the AHL can help Boqvist learn to roll off or get out of the way of big hits, but if he doesn’t learn how to soon he’s flirting with a very short career. - paulr
The AHL is a more physical league. Guys are trying to make an impression down there and there is less talent there so that style of play is more common. He does need to learn to avoid it, but i'm not sure why it has to be learned in the AHL |

He was in concussion protocol. He himself said he never had a concussion so if you can't understand that I don't know what to tell you. |

Of course. Now it's clear. They just want results and don't care about their players at all. |

As I said IF that puck to the chin HAD given him a concussion he would be in more trouble then he is . And yes the A is a bit more physical good but also a step slower and therefore a excellent place for a young player to cut their teeth |

Not writing Dach off, my comment was meant as what you said, he needs time, a year in the A, not playing with DeBrinket and Kane. I still think his calling card in the league is as a winger. - LAHawk
Agree with on dach be better off on the lw but still to early in his development to be concern. A full training camp and hopefully a healthy and ready to go towes will help dach a lot imo. |

It doesn't take any type of fortitude to scratch players who have been "career underachievers".
Yes they need talent to win. No they do not need talent to at least look like they're trying to make the correct plays. - fattybeef
Interesting, so after one game JC decided Gaudette was a career underachiever and scratched him? |

obviously there is concern a week trip to sick bay for a simple puck to the chin most players would not miss a shift over shows a problem . |

Didn’t 2 of the Hawks cups, a lot of it had to do with the great play of our goalie? Bowman needs to find NHL defenseman that are league average, and the defense will improve. When the 2 rookies you play are by far your best D, that says volumes. - LAHawk
Stan needs to sign Arvid Soderblom ASAP, he’ll be the Hawks long term goalie of the future. |

I just saw a TV ad from the Hawks selling 5 game packages for the 21-22 season. I guess they're optimistic about fans being allowed in the UC by October. Was the recent news reported by Dreger regarding Toews' return next year a nefarious plot orchestrated by the Hawks to sell tickets? |

Is takes people here much less to write off a player. I’d say one game is plenty of time. |

A game is perfect. After a bad shift you can write the player off off then use the remainder of the game to reinforce your initial decision and if they happen to have a good shift or two, call it an anomaly, blame Stan say he’s only there because of his Dad and say uncle Dale would have done better. |

How do you send a guy to the ahl who's arguably our best dman currently? I respect the Hawks being very cautious with Boqvist since his history with concussions is not good. |

I have to imagine it has to be tough to be a coach where lots of high end talent seems to always want to leave |

Wonder if we see a fine - BetweenTheDots
Possibly but I don't think he will. I don't think he said anything that is disrespectful. Now the content of what he said could be considered. Kane being an elite player in the league should be given the same consideration like the rest of the stars in league. |

I guess we'll see, i don't think I've ever heard Kane complain about officiating |
