You look at TB, Chi, LA to name a few that have undrafted or euro free agents come in and do well year after year. Not great but be better than the regular 4th liners of the NHL.

In Van even other teams scraps aren't as good with Van.

The thought of letting him go because of a $7M contract is nuts. Even at that cost he’s affordable if our GM stops giving money away to useless veteran dead weight.

Overrated as what?

He’s a sniper. That’s what he is. A premium is paid on goal scorers because that’s how you win games. The more snipers you have on your roster the better chance you have of winning.

You just need a GM who can construct a roster that utilizes snipers effectively and a coach who can develop a system that takes advantage of that type of skill set.

We have 1/3 of that potent mix.
