My experience was similar to yours.

Felt fine going to bed but tossed and turned through the night. Felt like a bag of hammers in the morning. Was drained with no energy.

Having said that I'd do it again even knowing the results.

I'm back to normal.

Wow.
Every person thinking about getting vaccine should watch that.

I just watched this video and feel more ed-u-ma-kate-ed now so thank you to whomever shared it.

In all seriousness it is a really well done video and does explain things well.

I have researched the Astrazeneca vaccine a bit via google as it's most likely that's what I'll be getting and besides the stories about the half dose/full dose issue during their clinical trials its hard to find any info on when their trials were conducted.

I was hoping they would show it in the video but they did not (I assume because the video is US based and that vaccine is not approved/being used in the US) but I am intrested to know when those trials were conducted if anyone knows?

I believe from what I read they did 2 trials - one in Brazil and one in the UK?

I'm just trying to figure out how similar or different the efficiency rate should be viewed against the other big name vaccines as were shown in the video.

Full disclosure - my wife wanted to wait for one of the 'better' vaccines and I have kept saying nope whatever is offered to me I'm taking. She has come around and has signed up but I know still has some hesitancy an this video with a bit of AZ info might help me make her feel better about it.

Thx if anyone knows and now back to your regularly scheduled Leaf talk.

Our PP sucks it needs to be fixed.

Our goalies suck but we have no options so let's hope 1 or more of them figure it out

Lou Foligino is the saviour and will fix it all.

My neighbour has a Ph.D. in medical researchy stuff (he actually does - I just couldn't explain to you what he did, because it's a couple of km over my head).

He explained to me that the Canadian pharmaceutical approvals process is more stringent that most other countries, so if Canada approves it, you have no worries.

The healthcare field were getting treated like crap before this pandemic...Its insane now and I feel as if most health care professionals have hit their breaking points.

My DR was always a happy go lucky warm guy and the last 4-6 months he has just seemed off.

I spoke to the pharmacist at Shoppers on Monday night - she suggested phoning each day about an hour before closing - see if you can grab a no-show's vaccine.

feels like such a dumb process. not knowing how stuff is handled in the back room, I would think if someone doesnt show up..the next in line get called.

guess not.

also I assume this no show stuff is because lots of people got on as many waiting lists as they could...and once they got the shot..just left all other others and didnt bother to remove themselves.

that was one of my questions initially..does getting on lots of waiting lists bog down the process

I tried calling 2 different Shoppers Drug Marts today, nobody will answer the phone and if they do as soon as you say why your calling they say "ok I'll transfer you and then you get no answer and eventually a voicemail box which says they are not taking messages related to booking vaccinations to go online".

I can't say I blame them and I definitely feel bad for staff working at any pharmacy who is doing vaccination right now being bombarded with calls and people walking in to ask about getting on a list.

I registered online on Monday and Tuesday to be on multiple wait lists (like 8 now) for pharmacies within 30 minutes of me.

I have a friend who did the same except he got to check off a box I did not because he is Metis. He registered yesterday at 2pm. Got an email to book an appointment at 6pm and went online and booked for a shot last night at 740pm (he didn't notice the email until then) for today at 1230pm. He said there were available spots at 1030, 11, 1, 3, 4, and 5pm when he picked the one on his lunch hour.

This upsets me a bit, not that he got in first but that there are clearly that many open spots & doses that aren't being used, makes zero sense.

He is going to ask when he goes if there are any spots open this aft and if so if we can walk in and get jabbed. I mean if they had early am appointments that went unfilled I would assume they have vaccines to go with those appointments on hand
so I don't see why they wouldn't allow us to walk in - but the fact we are not indigenous may prevent it.

I'm not sure if this clinic was only set up for indigenous people who wanted the vaccine or not but even if so if the vaccine is there and not being used why shouldn't they use it?

We will see, the fact you have to be a super sleuth or maybe have an inside track to get vaccinated annoys me beyond belief. I'm the 'get in line and wait my turn' guy and don't look to shortcut things because I view that as a-hole behaviour in general but in this case, I'm happy to be an A-hole.

Getting a vaccination shouldn't be like a scavenger hunt for Christ sakes, I'm not getting into whose fault it is (because I blame both levels of government) but (frank) it's annoying and upsetting.

End rant.

So apparently the men's World Championships are still going to be played in Latvia, starting May 21st.

16 different countries participating.

Why the frank would any player agree to join Team Canada?

Except you get on a waiting list, but you don't actually book an appointment until you get that magic email.

I'm still on the Costco and Shopper's Drug Mart lists, but as long as I don't make an actual appointment, I'm not jamming anyone up.

I tried that line (because I know it to be true and so does my wife) but she has gone too far down the social media, MSM rabbit hole on AZ being dangerous / bad or not as good as the other vaccines.

She is coming around a bit to understanding get what your given is better than waiting - I think her 78 year old diabetic father with COPD who lives alone and had a triple bypass in December who we have to go see every other week for a few days is also influencing the 'get what you can now' mentality in a good way.

Oh I like this more than trying to call all day. I mean if I"m going to ignore the mountain of actual work I have to do i want to ignore it to be on here not calling the pharmacy.
