Nice, kinda like when he started the season late and missed camp.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Yeah, in a full contact jersey nonetheless... He also told everyone it was a "foot injury" not ankle

I just hope he isn't stuck in rehab time as long as Blueger was...

Sully said he'd potentially be back around the 22nd-26th

- Beatnic57

It was a broken bone in his foot.

Letang has looked very bad for the past month or so. If he keeps playing like that this team will lose in the first round of the playoffs again, considering the ice time he generally gets.

He and Jarry were most responsible for the third period collapse. Jarry should definitely sit a game or two.

- PghPens668771

That would be incorrect. He's got 14 points in 16 games over the last month playing 24-25 minutes a night. Has a +8 goal differential at 5v5 playing 24-25 minutes a night.

He wasn't even bad last night. 4GF 2GA, 60% CF. Let's not 1 or 2 gaffes overplay the rest of his game.

Anyone else read the Kraken expansion blog collaboration with RW regarding the Pens?

I think Tanev would be taken regardless of contract in that scenario.

How do you talk about meltdowns and not mention Letang being on the ice or in the box for four out of the six goals against, after not doing things like backhand flips at the offensive blueline, then getting beat back by the puck carrier, making it back just in time to not really affect the big guy letting it go, and flinging his stick in the air? Then he makes just enough contact on the Hughes shot to send it to the opposite corner than it was probably going for. It is kind of on him to watch his behind too. The whole "don't do too much" means maybe pulling out of some situations that might get you konked, or at least not taking a retaliatory penalty when you do. He wears an A on his jersey, and he's been such a good version of himself this year - a minute-gobbling defensive non-issue making great first passes and getting a lotta A2's.

The Foote goal was a really good goal. The Bastian goal was also a really good goal. Let the coach give them the lashings. These things happen. Teams have been shellacked 6-0 on the way to plenty of Cups, even in the playoffs. At least they got the two points. Let's hope all of the ones that contributed to that meltdown can get their stuff together. You're talking about a team that is still competing for 1st place in a competitive division.

Does anyone know how the re-seeding will happen for the "conference" finals? I've heard different things.

Letang is 2nd in the NHL among D men in primary points. He has 19 primary assists to just 10 secondary assists.

I don't think anyone is giving Letang a pass.

The Stanley cup semifinal is seeded by point total from the regular season.

The idea that secondary assists are lesser is pretty silly IMO. Sometimes, what could have been a third assist if that existed is the sole reason a play even manifested in the first place.

Not positive but you gotta think it's gonna be by points. So most likely we won't be seeing the central or West play each other in the third round due to them most likely being 1-2 seed.Maybe like West vs North and Central vs East. Or could end up West vs East and Central vs North. This is just a guess.

Other than watching the Pens, I really hope that Boston and Washington meet in the opening series.

The way things are heading and looking at the remaining schedules, I think this is where things will fall:

Boston
Caps
Pens
Isles

I have Boston, Pittsburgh, Isles, Caps. I think the capitals have the most difficult schedule down the stretch. That 3 game set against the Isles should be fun to watch though.
