Colliton should take a page from his own book. In ot, he switches him after a fo win. As soon as the puck is in the o zone when Kampf is on the ice, switch him. He is good defensively, but a black hole offensively. - I Am The Breadman .
I don t thinkKampf is that good defensively, compared to his offense he is good defensively. If he was good defensively, the Hawks penalty killing would be better than next to last. |

Yup. Just a bit too much chaos with the Hawks in their own end.
Also - Jeebus Strome is slow. - Chunk
Too slow, should be a power play specialist, that’s where he adds value and only there. |

Knock the player, Carolina plays the same system, watch how they execute the man to man. - LAHawk
I don’t know enough about how the various defenses are played, but:
If your players can’t play the system you’re trying to put in - don’t you have to put in a system that they CAN play? |

I think Carp on the pk is bad. I'm fine with Kampf.
Time to tie up this game. |

I don ‘t think the Hawks forwards can play any defensive system well.

No way Hawks should protect Zadorov this summer. See ya. Trade him before the draft for a pick. Or don’t make a qualifying offer. |

Funny everyone and their mother is saying the Hawks need to shoot the puck? Hope JC is saying the same thing, we're not going to get any pretty goals against this team |

Not good. I def don't want to see de Haan & Z any more than I have too. Keith needs less time too. |

I think Kampf is fairly strong defensively. He is one of the best at moving the puck from the defensive zone. He starts almost 70% of his shifts in the defensive zone. He also has the fourth best Corsi on the team. Putting aside advanced stats what’s impressive is he starts almost three quarters of his shifts in his own zone yet he’s fourth best on the team at controlling the puck. It’s a shame he’s a guy where offense goes to die because he’s getting the puck out of trouble and into the offensive zone on a regular basis. As for Chicago’s bad penalty killing I’d look at other factors such as few forwards who are strong defensively, defensemen who as a group are poor defensively and a passive penalty killing system. |
