We lose a puck and gain a face off.

I think this season shows just how much the Hawks miss having a true #1 center. There is very little control going through the NZ, no one sits near or in the slot in the O-zone, and there is no one really controlling the play.

The funny thing was that this game was not lost because Nash was that much better than CHI. The Hawks made three absolutely god awful mistakes that ended up in the back of the net. Big Z going for the hit instead of actually covering his man, Keith with the total poope pass at the blueline and de Haan being de Haan in his own zone throwing the puck away.

The scary part is that it is the vets that are crapping the bed.

Last week I wrote the Hawks had to play mistake free games, both mentally and physically, if they wanted to win these games down the stretch and reach the playoffs. So far they're 0 for 1.

One goal defenseman had to go to the bench because he lost his helmet, the other your veteran defenseman makes a bad turnover, and the other defenseman falls down. I think that is more the players are not very good than a systems problem.

Brindamour is in the last year of his contract. However didn't Colliton sign an extension before the season. Stan will stick with him until it's time for the Hawks to be a true contender. Remember Savard and Q?
- boilermaker100

They probably will need about another year to evaluate some pieces before they get too concerned about a new coach IMO.

I think they are technically 0-2.

Brindamour is going to Seattle, be reunited with Francis.
- LAHawk

Don't think so. Brindamour is on the verge of a cup. I'd be shocked if he left now after all the work he's put in the last few years. I was really hoping that Corey Crawford would sign with Carolina. Maybe he wouldn't have retired if he was on a good team instead of the New Jersey Christmas trees.

They really miss Bovquist, only defenseman that can make a pass consistently on a forwards stick.

I see what you did there but I meant 0 for 1 in games played against the teams they have to beat.

Yes! Oddly enough, Stillman is actually one of the better defenders on the team right now as well.

He's a good pickup. I like what he brings as a 5-6.

Colliton on Kalynuk: "I don't know the timeline, but obviously he couldn't come back."

"It just seems to be a constant thing where we're playing games with 5 D."

Colliton said Hagel had another false positive test and they weren't able to get a second negative test in time for the game.

There’s the big picture. The picture isn’t making the playoffs this season, although that would be nice. The big picture is in a year or two. I think you will understand next year why Colliton is pushing the system he is, the team will grow into it.

Improve personnel through roster changes and development of players + more grit and physical on bottom lines is coming .......

Since Kampf really banged home that loose puck for his first goal in 49 games, I'm bettin that JC gets him on that 1st PP unit Wed night. He's done it before.

In the wild card conversation exceeds everyone's expectations. That's a plus. Still going to get a decent draft pick. Also a plus. I'm fine watching the young players develop.

Will be an interesting goalie battle as the season winds down.

In all seriousness (yes, I can do that), there are lots of positives fans can take from this season:

- DeBrincat bounced back
- Boqvist emerged as an NHL d-man and is getting better
- Suter was a nice find
- Hagel has exceeded expectations
- Kalynuk is looking like the real deal (hope he’s ok)
- Lankinen and Subban each show potential
- In the prospect pool Reichel has developed nicely overseas and Kaiser has done the same in college

Tortarella will probably be available, Babcock is coaching Canadian college hockey, Hitchcock is playing golf in Palm Springs, Vignault, Yeo and Therrien will probably all be available after the dumpster the Flyers were this year, Julien is available. Which one should Stan hire?

Edit: forgot Gallant

Double edit: forgot Boudreau and Dan Bylsma

- LAHawk

I don't want any of them. I have a problem with Colliton on break outs so poor and he cannot get the players to cooperate. Although some on the board claim it is not all on Colliton. I'll go along with that. But I know damn well If I was playing I would be all over my teamattes like you lazy *ss be responsible or I'm going to be in your face and kick your butt. That is just me...cannot go off on teamattes except I would.

Despite rpeters1 disdain for him, ADB has grown into a very good player. There is always room for improvement, but he is now better defensively, can forecheck, and actually sets up line mates well. I'm happy he's on the Hawks.

Be interesting to see what Stan does next year. He for sure will have $10 mil. On LTIR (Shaw and Seabrook), possibly (I pray not) $20 mil. With Toews. We could see another big turnover of personnel next year. Stan could possibly have over $30 mil. To play with next year.

If you had to make the call right now, do you keep Suter? I do, but I'm a little reluctant.
