I'm not too upset about the loss tonight simply because the Jets were by far the better team and if Helle had shown up in the first few minutes Jets would have won.

I know we are supposed to be patient with 22 yr old PLD but he was horrible tonight. He probably leads the Jets in giveaways and bad plays since he arrived. A serious lack of extra effort as well. I'm trying to be patient but it's wearing pretty thin.

Benn did nothing for me tonight. Almost invisible. Heinola should have gotten the nod. He better be in the next game.

Hope Lowry is OK. Rumours were a lot of teams were eyeing him as a potential free agent. I remember Rexy saying last year Lowry would clear waivers. Really bad call there but of course where do I even start on that subject.

Not too upset as well, game could have gone either way. First place or fourth place, don't think it really matters. Any of the top four teams here can beat the other on a given night.

Wondering what the feeling is with management/players on PLD's play? He doesn't appear to be happy, wonder how he's fitting in? Actually thought PLD played better last night than most nights, more physical. Wonder if he's hurting?

Benn, Heinola, Stanley? Even though he's a veteran Benn's first game as a Jet, maybe a little uncomfortable? Even if that's the case, I would play Stanley the next game. Got to keep guys like Simmonds, Foligno in check. Even Galchenyuk!

Haven't heard of an update on Lowry. If that was a hit on Mathedws, the offender would have got 25 years of hard labor, let alone a five, ten and game. Head hit - no penalty at all. Go figure!

Why pull Stanley for Benn who is terribly slow, anyone who's watched Jordie Benn play over the last two seasons could plainly see he's very slow, how could any member of Jets management who's already watching DeMelo and Forbort think the Jets could use another slow dman.. 😂

I have 0 problems with PLD’s play. I think he’s still adjusting to the complexities of the Jets system.

I thought it was one of PLD's worst games as a Jet and most of his games have been pretty underwhelming so that says a lot, really hope he gets going soon.

I didn't think Galchenyuk's hit on Lowry was bad, just caught him awkwardly, Foligno's hit on Morrissey was dirty though, can't believe no one did anything about that especially PLD, he was right there after it happened.

Agreed though that if that was Matthews who got bumped the world would be imploding right now.

True, however as I see it, Benn is an injury replacement. It’s sad that when veterans come into the room, Maurice feels obligated to play them. Gets me questioning as to who is in charge in the locker room.

the game was brutal and both teams looked bad.

I am not worried about PLD, i liked his game last night.

what is more concerning is the reality that Wheeler is done, he visibly has nothing left, this coach will continue to over use and over play him which is just going to get worse for team and player

forbot is to slow
benn was no good
morrisey is worse than poolman, and ps. every stat and eye test backs this up.
heinola and stanley should both be playing now!!! and its time to see perfetti, gustaffson and samberg get in a couple games to

I agree that Benn should not crack this roster. I like Forbort and think the chemistry with Pionk has been very successful. Jomo doesn't have a good partner but he is solid D. Ideally:

Forbort Pionk
Stanley Poolman

Copp is having a better year then Stastny and Wheeler. Same with Stanley over Beaulieu yet both get demoted when the Jets have a healthy lineup. Age and experience matter to Maurice more than actual on ice results.

Pretty much agree with everything you said here. Not sure if PLD has really quite figured it out yet as you know that TO playoff killer exists there somehwere, might take some time before he comes back? Look at Ehlers now after adding years of experience, the guy is simply awesome. So, you know its there for PLD, only a matter time of when the confidence comes and knows where he fits in and takes off. Might take a year.

Might as well give Samberg a game and have a look if you are playing Benn, and slip Heinola in there and Stanley. You had to get him in there for one or two tho. Get it over with and rotate the kids in.

I didn’t mind pld last night either, in contrast to some others I thought the effort was there- maybe trying to do too much sometimes, squeezing the stick too much etc. He strikes me as someone with character that will take a while to settle in and coming mid-season didn’t help... maybe a little like Joel Armia that way

Ultimately Ultimate I just don't see why Benn was even acquired in the first place and I don't even see the need from a depth perspective, the Jets didn’t need another #6/7 dman.

What an embarrassing trade deadline, I would've preferred almost any of the other dmen that were acquired around the TDL then Benn.

Agree about Wheeler, I know it was his first game back but he looks done to me, it's why I've been calling for 3rd line Wheeler for awhile now, to try and shave off some minutes and keep a bit of fuel in his tank.

And you're right that Maurice will keep rolling Wheeler out no matter what, with Lowry being extended I don't see much changing with this team in the next few years up front, PoMo is gonna keep doing the same thing he's been doing.

The depth is there. Jets should be a 3 line team if they really want to win. My expectations from Thompson/Lewis/Vesa are very low, but the other 3 lines could play a very balanced 18 minutes per night of great hockey.

I am loving the one-sided TSN coverage. Is Toronto dirty? Haha, yes slashing someone in the face is dirty. So is a late head shot. That being said, Jets get a massive edge in a 7 game series that involves physicality. All PoMo needs to do is match Lowry with Marner/Matthews, and tell him to hit them clean, but as hard as he can every chance he gets. Lowry is a beast, and needs to be used as such.
