on another note, could you see Weber retired at the end of this season? If a better job at managing his minutes would be done....

Nah I don’t see it...and I don’t see Bergevin leaving him exposed for the Seattle draft...unfortunately. Unless of course he’s not there anymore and the person who takes over decides it’s time for a change or mindset...

forget about it : https://fr.capfriendly.com/players/shea-weber

how Seattle would know when he would call it quit? You're looking at losing 2 firsts round picks to get rid of that and even then....

Drouin might happen, that's where your focus should be

He kept saying he had high expectations for this team so if it stumbles into the playoffs and has a quick exit, perhaps Molson will finally give him his marching orders. I mean he spent to the cap this season and if there is not result he can’t blame injury, the French language, the lack of depth, the pandemic or UFOs, frankly, he won’t have a card left to play because this year, he did put all his chips in and the team on the ice reflect his own vision of what a contending team should look like. For him, it needs big defenders who will make the other team’s attack suffer but unfortunately, you can’t hurt someone if you can’t catch up to them. The new NHL needs fast mobile defenders who have a good first pass and know what to do with the puck...

Said ages ago that it’s what I think will happen and I think they will give them picks to leave him alone.

I could see them pick up a defenseman as well. Like Edmundson.

Allen could be a good pick, as long they have 1 or 2 other guys to be the starter

It’s hard to predict what could happen right now, so much depends on who’s left unprotected by the other teams, when we have the complete list (5 days before the draft i think?), then we can have fan speculating while knowing what’s up for grabs.

Everyone ages, it’s a fact of life, but for some, the aging process happens under a huge spotlight, this is what the Canadiens’ captain Shea Weber is going through right now…

What do you think Nashville will pay to get Weber back so he doesn't retire a Hab to prevent the recapture penalty?

exactly. the point is not for Sea to take him, but for MB to protect an extra dman

peanut told me the league would not let it happen, but why would they do that? It's Nashville problem, not the NHL.

But I don't think his career is over yet. I don't think he would be ready to quit.

I think they amended it so the capture would be his actual cap hit. Instead of 28 million or so. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

yeah, that I would agree

They should protect Petry, Edmundson and then Chiarot or fleury (I know your anwser on that one)

unless they protect one of the new defensemen?
