the future is looking bright

now it would be really nice if they can get their poop together for the rest of this season and at least show an acceptable level of effort during games

Yeah, getting Drouin out of the lineup would be a good start and also managing Weber's TOI, as it's becoming obvious he can't play top minutes anymore. Then again, Petry can also turn the puck like it's no one else business in his zone.

that was the point

their history of mishandling player development (especially their first round picks) isn't really reassuring me.

the last first round pick they did a good job developing was probably Max Pacioretty.

i did consider him. but he was traded a year after they drafted him and his one year with the organization was spent in the CHL. so i would say his development as a pro happened with Tampa.

and oddly enough at some point I think he had requested to be sent down to the farm club and play there to improve on his game

i remember him playing in the AHL and telling someone in the media that if they weren't going to call him up to play a top-6 role, leave him alone.

but he was drafted in 2007 so 14 years later i'd say we're due to hit on some first round development. maybe Suzuki will be the slump buster.

Problem with that idea is that there would be a new result to the vote every week.
