I agree with this completely.. but I do reserve the "right" to hate on two players in Leaf history who (in my opinion) just sh_t the bed completely.

that would be Andrew Raycroft and Larry Murphy.

other than those two... it really bothers me when people pick players to pieces....

that team that played in front of Raycroft, must have lost their minds at some of the games they lost.....

just crazy... and everyone will say "Raycroft" had the single seasons wins record for quite a while... but it wasn't the those wins... it was the losses that his uneven performances led to.

Such a good show! I have a HH of F t-shirt from retrokid.ca that is the schnizit! I wanted the glow in the dark hoodie but was too slow.

And when they sold them the 1st time they had a limited # HH of F LP's available as well - I bought the set and they are sitting in a box in my basement because I have no record player.

I thought they were cool (different colours and poop) and I'd buy a record player to play them and still haven't got around to it. I have those and a U2 Joshua Tree reprint that are both unopened but hard to justify buying a player just for those. lol

When you have kids these days, they actually give you odds of your kid being born with down's syndrome.

Both my kids had something like 1 chance out of 75000.

When you hear something like that, you're like, yeah ok, so virtually no chance. Great.

Murphy was far from very poor in Toronto. He was deemed as being slow, and nothing, NOTHING else mattered. He had 61 points his first year with the Leafs and still got boo’d off the ice.

I absolutely loved the Larry Murphy trade. Mike Smith was Leafs GM. Holland didn't take over as Red Wings full time GM until the following season. Murphy was made to be a scapegoat in Toronto. Alot of Leaf fans couldn't stomach him making $3 million a season. The vitriol was real.

What I didn't understand was, how did he only receive "future considerations" in return? The Leafs paid half his remaining salary that season AND the next season when the Red Wings won another Stanley Cup.

Scotty Bowman had Murphy in Pittsburgh when they won 2 Cups so he knew him very well. There's no question a young Nick Lidstrom made Murphy look much better than he was. But Murphy could still play at a high level.

The trade was extra beneficial for Detroit after Konstantinov lost his career to that stupid limo accident. He was just as valuable to the Red Wings at the time as Lidstrom was.

My best Larry Murphy Red Wings memory is seeing both he and Lidstrom nullify the Flyers' infamous "Legion of Doom" line in the 1997 SCF. Lindros didn't score his first goal of the series until a minute left in game 4. That line barely had the puck in those 4 games. It was beautiful.
