6th in an 8 team division is a disgrace.

Disappointing: yes. A disgrace? No considering how a tough division it is and was always going to be.

The Devils & Sabres are two of the worst teams in the NHL. Finishing ahead of those teams means less than nothing.

The flyers’ own play has been a disgrace. They have nose dived and fallen apart all on their own. Struggling against teams like Buffalo - there is no excuse. I just hope it was a bad season that came off the rails and got away from them. I didn’t expect them to contend or anything this year but this season has been far more disappointing than I expected.

15 game goalless drought for JVR, geez. Any chance of Seattle taking him has probably gone out the door. Nothing like having $14M locked up in guys like Hayes and him. If the Roster was to stay somewhat similar next year we would have JVR Hayes G Jake Coots all making 7M plus, that’s just way too much money for not enough production and no real game changer.
- ClaudeFather

I don’t understand this mindset. Breaks 15 goal drought but still leads team in points but let’s focus on the negative. I’m almost positive JvR has ever play RW his entire career.

Voracek gets paid a million more a season and I’m sure 15 game goal droughts are a regular thing for him. “But he’s a passer” So what? His biggest issue is he doesn’t shoot.

Have this fan base seems fine with Hayes being our third highest paid player. How he earned this cash, I’ll never know. At least JvR has two 62 point season to his career. Hayes has only ever had one 55 point season where he tops out and his defensive game in my mind has never lived up. Even when JvR doesn’t deflect a goal, he’s still a body that allowed Giroux, Couturier, Provorov to get the goals that they get.

We need Vorachek selected by Kracken no matter what sweetener it takes. Also need to eat about 1m on ghosts contract and get that moved.

Then we talk to Jackets and Ducks about Dmen,

Their play has been a disgrace at times, however their current standings relative to the division is another matter. This division was always going to be tough with no margin for error.

But what was Jimmy er Kevin Hayes 'on pace for' totals that year? I was mocked by those "intelligent" posters about how he would have, or could have had so many more points

Maybe Chuck needs to talk to this team about having a bias for action. That should get them moving in the right direction. But hey, 7.1M for how many more years?

Why the hell would they want NAK. I see them taking a Dman
- ClaudeFather

With NAK, it’s not necessarily the player I think they’d want, it’s the contract. You could be right about a Dman. Can never have too much D depth I guess. But I don’t think they’re touching Ghost’s contract without a sweetner. The other exposed Dmen aren’t expensive, but they’re not that great of players either

I personally didn’t have a problem with how we played yesterday, for once. I didn’t like our goaltending and I didn’t like the calls yesterday.

I don’t expect much from us tonight but there were some positives from yesterday.

People should be happy. Sink as far as we can to get a high pick in a sad draft. We’re guaranteed to be good with that plan.

Our expectations were set so low in March, that a 6-3 defeat actually seems a mixed blessing. Thats why you are saying what you are.

I think them taking jvr isn’t out of the realm of possibility. He has just two years left. He’s a force on the PP and he is showing he can play enough of a two way game. The team will need some vets and need to hit the cap floor

Isn't this because people say that we have to be aggressive and go out and sign UFA's to fill positions?

There weren't many options either year in the UFA department.

Personally, I was okay with the Hayes signing though it's depressing how it worked out. Jvr, on the other hand, I hated that signing right away.

I know it's easier said than done, but it would be nice to save some cap space so that when someone comes along who clearly has talent, like Seth Jones, Sergachev, then you can trade assets to try to sign and extend... When teams just can't resign people because of the salary cap..say Panarin back when... at least you're talking about real talent, not JvR!!

Jvr has been doing absolutely nothing. I called out Hayes earlier today and alluded to having guys like him G Jake and Jvr all making the money they make is not money well spent. Save your nonsense for replying on someone else.

Yea if you look back to the Vegas draft they also ended up taking a lot of Dmen. Obviously they all didn’t make it to the opening night but Dmen are more valuable than a guy such as NAK. Probably not out of the question but we have some decent options on the backend for what it is.

Leading the team in points is absolutely nothing? I think he’s been more noticeable this year than ever in years passed. Physical. Positional. He broke a goalless drought, not a pointless drought.

Well, if we didnt play bad, how did we end up giving up 6 goals? That's not an unlucky break or two. Thats a multiple fracture.

Why is it that nak is never scratched for being a penalty machine but Myers gets yo yo Ed in and out of the lineup? That brand help build any consistency for him.
