Be some what fair.....he played as good as he has played all year. He actually got out hustled behind the net and gave the puck away.....3 on 3 is all about puck possession give a ways are crucial. If you look across it was Hayes who got beat to the net...shocking. Tough way to lose but that’s what this team does...even games they sometimes deserve they find ways to lose.

This...was a brutal shift for him. Got beat twice...first with the giveaway behind the net and then in coverage, leading to the goal.

I'm not denying that there are teams with mose talent and often win. All I was saying is that if you watched all of the games this year you'd notice that effort has been an issue in a lot of games.

I think the Flyers try, but yes, there have been games this season when they get behind and just get down on themselves and give up.

Do you just sit here all day and wait to b*tch about something? Crazy how you had nothing to say while they were playing well

you quoted a post where I said they played well. Guess what, they lost again...

I don't mind Laughton, as long as he plays in the bottom 6 where he belongs, its when you try to play him in the top 6 you see he is really not good enough. Overall I like Laughton as a 4th liner who can play up into the top 9 when needed.
- jd250

I'm not giving 5 year contracts to bottom 6 players.

Laughton makes sense for a team ready to compete for a Cup. That isn't the Flyers. They aren't in the stratosphere.

I wonder what the coaches think about the stability of their jobs?

I wonder what Fletcher thinks about the stability of his job?

I wonder what Dave Scott thinks about both?

There is kind of a "safety first" non risk-taking mentality there, don't you think? Maybe its just me who is reading too much into it.

No, some nights they play poorly AND can’t score.

They all may get a reprieve this year...but if it’s basically the same team that comes back and they struggle again, the all bets are off.

idk. The term of the contract is fine, just too many years. No reason to make that length of a commitment. I won't say players like Laughton are a dime a dozen, because that would be a slight, but when you have a team ready to make a run players of Laughton's ilk are available.

I’m still on the fence with this signing. I agree it’s a lot for a bottom six guy....but then I think he does a lot of good things...

Usually at a marked-up cost. Better to have that player in-house.

Effort wasn't a problem tonight, if this was part of a winning season this loss would have been palatable, even considered a moral victory. But tonight was one more evening spent culminating in misery during an unfathomably dismal season. Three on three is a format where anything could happen. It was a poor play by Sanheim, but overall he played well.

Could've done without the loser point tonight. Focus on improving the draft position guys.

what has Giroux done exactly?

besides steal money and humiliate Clarke by being a captain longer and stealing money for being over=rated?

Yea where you will still complaining that they lost. Who cares if they lost at this point. Playoffs are not happening. Whether they win or lose doesnt matter as long as they play well to make it entertaining.

It does matter though. Young players will take after the veterans, and if piss poor performances are the norm, and the vets are the ones leading those performances, how long before the young guys start to mail it in?
