And that 2nd Pgh goal is precisely why they need to upgrade the goalie spot. - Powerslave
Damn goaltending, but I couldn't agree more. Expose him and then of to Rochester. |

Worst case is 4th or 5th. They're not guaranteed 1 even if they finish last. What Granato is doing is more valuable in any case - jcragcrumple
Not really worst case. Its a log jam from 2-8.
Its never more valuable. Have you not watched the last 10 years? Strong finishes mean nothing for the next year. |

Thats the thinking that got us to tying the NHL record for missing the playoffs.
That Sh*t needs to be out of buffalo sports forever. Look what we doing with not one superstar on this team. - ZiggyBuff
You mean the first overall pick Rasmus Dahlin who had 2 assists today and has been leading the team in expected goals since Granato took over ?
The tank is not the problem. Tanking is not a problem.
Poor coaching and not having stop gaps that can play while the likes of Mittelstadt, Thompson, Asplund, and Cozens could figure it out were the problem. |

Fan thinking doesn't determine the draft outcome. Stop being silly. |

they drafted cozens after phil's second season
dahlin after his first year |
|

i get your point but a lot of this is play being driven by dahlin... - robz228
Disagree 1000%. There playing like a team. There taking chances and using the middle of the ice. They trust each other.
One player is not making everyone do or feel that. Dahlin is looking mighty good thou.... |

sure but the best player on the team by maybe a safe margin right now is a first overall pick
just playing devils advocate to his point

scoring is spread out along the top 3 lines and the d are attacking and thus they are all putting up more points as well
it's more coaching philosophy and being a faster team that attacks more |

yeah they attack when getting out of their own end, instead of float
this is the tempo I thought we would get after the initial botts presser

*shrugs*
i still don't remember getting the feeling they were built to lose...i do remember people saying it was a stealth tank after they fumbled their way through the season but i really don't think last place was intentional |

attacking means a lot of hard work, from hawking the puck to being in the right position for the breakout and the breakout itself |

That really worked with our generational talent Eichel. 6 years and counting and not even a sniff of the playoffs.

Toronto and Colorado are top 5 teams in the entire league.
Tanking is not an issue |
