I want to see Borgen the rest of the year, for sure. - Powerslave
Good problem to have, Sabres have a nice pipeline of D prospects coming through the system. Know they just need to fill the forward group coming through.

Hopefully Beniers gets added to that group this year. I'm most excited about Peterka. That kid looks like he has "it".
Something that Adams has got to figure out for next year.
If all goes well, UPL and Tokarski can share the load next year down there (perfect scenario would have UPL playing 50 games or so, imo).
Have high hopes for Portillo, as well. - Powerslave
this is a weird year too...ullmark and hutton out plus the need to carry an extra goalie stripped rochester of any possible talent in net...christopolus is atrocious with 9.42 gaa and .583 sv% (yes, you red that write) and although lekkas is better (4.32, .841) it's still pretty ugly
Honest questions for Pegulaville, Brodie and any one else who's deeply into analytics: where does all the moment-by-moment analytical information come from, how is the information compiled and how do they come up with the final tallies? - Michael Pachla
Puck tracking devices, player tracking devices, heat maps, manual tracking goes into it as well which is just simply people tasked with watching and tracking shot attempts for, against, and what not.
They are all compiled into databases and mathematical models. I know some of the people use things like python and other methods to track it.

I believe they stopped using the new pucks with tracking chips in them very early on this year. Unless they came up with new ones since then.

i figured that, however the nhl has yet to go full bore on those tracking devices and i don't think natural stat trick has that capacity so, to me, it would seem as if it's more of the latter--people watching, meaning subjectivity...
for instance, in yesterday's game, tokharski was credited with 5 hd saves on 5 hd shots...however, e-rod scored from right on his door step while rust was a tip in at the crease...i'm of the opinion that those are high danger shots
Time to move on without him. He is injury prone. - c1067
It's comments like these that really make me hate Buffalo sports fans - and humans in general. However, I'm sure not all Buffalo sports fans are insane, so that thought brings me back.

Oh we all have a little insanity in us. Especially after the 17yrs with the Bill's and know a decade with the Sabres.

i sensed sarcasm...however, i say, i say, i could be wrong
Gonna be interesting, gonna be a lot of learning and growing for these youngins. See how they look against the heavy weights. I know it doesn't matter but if they can keep progressing and play these teams hard could give a very good look for the future.
Just saw that, this could get very interesting with him and when Borgen gets back in. Players better watch coming down the side boards with Samuelsson cause he will take your head off.
