so do you think bad coaching is the main reason they're playing so poorly? not necessarily disagreeing, since I have no clue of the actual details and what's really going on in the locker room, but I find it baffling that this group of players would absolutely need a communications nobel prize winner in order to give a decent effort
- Pat1993

Likely 50/50, I mean no coach will tell the players to not back check and go for the no look past in the danger areas, so players have their fair share of blame

No I’m saying Ducharme is adding nothing and is ruining his entrance in the big league. I don’t care about pressers.

No idea, but seeing Weber and Staal playing hockey make me think they're ready for eternal rest.

Weber mind is on his future home in Kelowna while Staal mind is in Minny with his wife and kids

yeah, he couldn't really say no to the opportunity but in a market like MTL I guess it can rapidly become a curse more than a blessing.

If it was 10 years ago Larry Robinson would have been a good choice for head coach

very late reply, but really..? I don't think he would've made that much of a difference, but perhaps you're right, who knows

I mean there's no way to be certain of course, but I think he was a better bet.

wherever a new coach gets a job, it’s rarely in an easy situation, normally coaches are fired because the team is playing like crap...unless you inherit the Caps after Trotz was done with them or an expansion team with a solide roster (like the Knights, not the first edition of the Sharks or Sens for instance lol)

Oh I know, but do you think he was a better option if hypothetically you could bypass that restriction?

let see what they do in the playoffs. if they come out of the North... you guys will all be very happy and praise the current admin.
if they fail, then it will be time to start a rebuild, not a reset. on and off the ice.

I guess the ultimate example would be Barry Trotz, even if his roster doesn't necessarily look spectacular on paper he always seems to develop a winning mentality and squeeze out the best performance possible from his players

I think Marc Crawford would also make a good head coach for the Habs

Trotz would be exactly who I would take if any coach was available.

I think he's one of the rare non-french speaking coaches that could possibly convince the francophone die-hards who consider language is a vital hiring criteria to change their mentality

Lol I hope you only read one part since it’s exactly the same in the other language . I only do them in both languages because some have asked me to and tbh, i get more clicks since I’ve started doing that

What about Pierre McGuire? I know he was mainly a broadcaster but he did coach many years ago, his outspoken personality may mesh well with the players or maybe he is more fit as GM

ugh, personally I'm not a big fan, although his cringe levels could be quite entertaining in MTL
