poop penalty call. Boston media is garbage.

No effing way, keep Rodrigues with Blueger. These three games are the most offensive zone face-offs Blueger has seen in two years.

He takes 76% of his draws in the D zone. Insane amount. But, he still has 14 5v5 points despite that. Tied with Rust...

It's funny, when they showed it in slow motion, I didn't think it was boarding. When I saw it full speed, I thought it was the right call. So yeah....good call.

Yeah but, it’s Boston. I think we were the last team to board tinordi. He turns at the last second. Maybe he shouldn’t of done that. That last Bos-wash game of the season should be a gooder.

Most of his back was already to him. Yeah, he turned like a few inches at the last second, but regardless most his back was to him. This was textbook boarding.

(Note) Boarding is the action where a player pushes, trips or body checks an opponent causing them to go dangerously into the boards.

By the rule, tanevs check also caused Tinordi to "go dangerously into the boards"

my point is...why is Tinordi so frequently in a position to "go dangerously into the boards"... Players are checked as he was during both those plays constantly throughout the game. Neither one of those checkers (Hathaway or Tanev) are huge guys. It not like he was getting murdered by Wilson.

IDK im with Blackstrom2, i thought it was a pretty soft hit. Tinordi drew a penalty off Wilson earlier in the year, that i thought was pretty weak for a wilson hit, so i think Tinordi just has a fetish for diving into the boards

There's nothing Tinordi is doing. Players have the puck a few feet from the boards all the time. It was a bad hit.

oh i didn't realize you deemed it a bad hit, must be a bad it.

explain to me why it is the 6'6" Tinordi that is getting waffled by smaller players? If players have the puck a few feet away from the boards all the time and he saw hathaway coming, why was he not better prepared to receive the hit? they should be used getting hit in those situations.

Tinordi is bostons worst player. 0P in 13games. 45%CF, 21%GF. He's just diving to have somesort of positive impact on the game.

When you say smaller... do you think that being 6'2" 210 lbs is significantly smaller than 6'6" 205 lbs?

Honestly, I would think the shorter/heavier player is going to be stronger due to a lower center of gravity and a steadier base.

I do agree he shouldn't have turned and put himself at risk, but by definition it was definitely boarding and Hathaway was looking at the numbers for quite some time on his way in lol

Random line-up thought. Sully likes to play forwards either on PP or PK but not both consistently. 7 forwards on PP and 4 on PK meaning only 1 line-up spot for guys who do neither. Might be dumb, but it's what he does although Carter has gotten some time on both so far.

If none of the top 8 skill players are on PK, the other 4 have to. Also interesting for ERod. Makes it tough for guys like Angelo or Zohorna who won't crack PP on a healthy lineup and haven't killed penalties. Gives Sceviour and Jankowski a better chance to get in the line-up over them, particularly when looking for someone to take Tanev's spot.

If Sullivan thinks like this I can only shake my head at it and move on.

He was making it seem like he was curling to he left, up until Hathaway, who seemed to let up, hit him. Shouldn't have been a major because he got bloodied up.

But a major? Meh. Tinordi knew he was coming for as long as he was lined up, and again, it seems like Hathaway tries to let up when he sees Tinordi turn. At least they rightfully didn't call the Wilson "hit".

He barely turned and as j.boyd pointed out, he saw his digits all day long. It's textbook boarding.

That's literally why it became a major and how it's written in the rule book

He's been here for a while and when guys like Rust and McCann start getting PP time they stop getting PK time. So I think 4 line up spots will be PK guys with Blueger and ZAR being two. I sort of think that's why Sceviour is in now.

That's true, that changed three games ago when Rodrigues was added. Example, I noticed in yesterday's game that Blueger's line got the puck in deep forced a face-off, then stayed on the ice. Won the draw got another shot and after the whistle ZAR went to the bench and was told to stay out. That never happened before.

If having ERod as the third wheel gets them more offensive ice time, I'm all for it. I'd rather he didn't lose the puck at his own blue line, but you have to take the good with the bad.

I can understand why you wouldn't use the guys on the top PP unit as PKers. When Malkin returns one of those two will be demoted. Barring injury, you always have to add that part.

I can understand why you have 4 players dedicated to the PK. You need at least 4 more who can jump up when called upon. Sceviour is one of the top twelve forwards at the moment. That's not going to last much longer with Angello and Kapanen's return imminent.

Yeah I didn't think it was worth a major, seemed like a 2min penalty at most.

How do you cook that? I'd be so afraid of overcooking it.
