Not at all .. I am not defending Hayes either. But sticking with JVR, the Flyers are paying him to score goals and you just can't afford 17 games without a goal. If this was a one time thing you say its OK, but this happens with JVR every single year!

I actually think he had the perfect angle and depth on that second goal...the problem was the deflection off TK.

I don’t agree but we’re splitting hairs. Playing caps you need saves you shouldn’t get, Lyon has not made any of those saves. Last goal, high deflection but still back in his crease and plenty of room on the far post. The loss isn’t on him but if you have the hart we had against Pens, could be a different game

WTF!!! The goalie is outside of the crease and TK didn't even brush him!! This ref should be immediately removed from rotation by the NHL and go back to school!

Don’t get me wrong, the upside on Hart is much higher than Lyon. However, as you rightly point out this is Lyon’s first NHL start in over a year, having actual team defense would have made a few of those goals preventable.
