we need a bohm - 2Real Really don't think anyone cares about the Sillies right now. I mean, this is a hockey thread and they are on like game number whatever on a 450,000 game season.

Thank you! Where'd the other dude go? He seems to have magically disappeared.

He likely just forgot. I don't blame him. Its so unusual an event that it probably slipped from the mind after it happened. |

Has anyone heard how long Jackson Cates has to remain in Covid quarantine to join the team? I see there are actually a few days off after tomorrow’s game so the Flyers may get to practice. Shocking! Also any chance Noah joins? Too bad there isn’t 2 for 1 brother signing deals.

The Flyers were one game away from the final 4 last year, so what are you talking about? - jd250
In a series we had no business being in. Isles should have easily swept us. Chara knew where he was going which is why he signed with WSH.
Your evidence is strictly based on Chara not being here. You dont know that Fletcher didnt look at him, you dont know if he reached out and inquired, you dont know if Chara even wanted to come here and biggest of all you ignore the fact Chara didnt sign until December 30th if my research is correct. Thats well beyond the FA opening day in OCT. The reason why he waited so long was he was contemplating retiring. The only reason he didnt sign with Boston is because Sweeny and Chara couldnt agree on his role on the team.
This isnt a video game where you automatically can land any player you want.

Personally my current wants for the Flyers (Need to be top 10 most likely at least): Chaz Lucius, Dylan Guenther, Kent Johnson
Who I think the Flyers target (11-16 range): Corson Ceulemans, Carson Lambos, Cole Sillinger

Tye mcginn came up with a similar type of game. Scored some goals
We shall see - Just5
Wade Allison is no Tye McGinn and he is no Al Hill. Allison's issue has always been injuries. He'd have turned pro after his sophomore season at WM, most likely, but he tore his ACL midway through what was a breakout season. It took him 18 months to get back to 100%. He was a senior by that point. Then he had unrelated injury issues
before closing out his college career with a rush.
In camp with the Flyers this year, he had an ankle issue that caused him to be shut down on Day 2. Had surgery that forced him to miss the start of the AHL season. Once he actually did get on the ice, he started scoring immediately.
With the Flyers, because they have him netfront on the power play, he hasn't gotten to use his best weapon yet: he has a high-grade one-timer from his off-wing or the middle of the slot.
McGinn didn't have Allison's hands. He did play some net-front and could knock in some rebounds and deflections. He couldn't score from distance, though. Allison can.
Al Hill was a decent 4th line player who worked his tail off, but he'd never been a big goal scorer. He had one magical, history-making night that just so happened to be his NHL debut.
Allison is a powerful skater and he hustles. He also has some things in his game that he can improve. With the Phantoms, he sometimes tried to force plays that weren't there, and sometimes in dangerous areas. He's not a budding young Selke-like winger in his own zone but you can say that of most power forwards.
Allison has a feisty side to his game sometimes. That hasn't come to the forefront yet but it eventually will.
The thing with McGinn is that he had an eye injury in a fight. When he came back, he wasn't nearly as physical as he was before. He was less effective. With Allison, if he lost other parts of his game, he could still contribute something if he just parked himself in the slot to be fed one-timers.
Watch for Tyson Foerster over the next few years, too. He has a more diverse and dynamic offensive arsenal than Allison and just as heavy of a shot. He just needs to continue working on his skating and adding power. The hands and ice vision aspects are first-line caliber if he maxes his potential. Before the Phantoms had their last four games postponed due to Covid-related issues, Foerster was on a tear. He's just turned 19 and was starting to take over games at the AHL level.

I’ve seen highlights from phantoms games. He def has the one timer like a Hartnell did. It would just have to be fed from jake’s side. If he can be feisty and a bit physical maybe we have a hartnell clone here. |
