gimme darcy's trades, botterill's drafting an murray's peepee whacking pressers - Michael Pachla
The problem is that Darcy would only make a trade if he thought he won the trade. There were so many years where the team needed some new blood and he wouldn't do it. I remember when we sent Barnaby to Pittburgh for Stu Barnes - the Pittsburgh GM said that the trade had been on the table for months. Darcy had to squeeze an extra mid-round draft pick out of him. |

Anything other than stand in front of the net aimlessly and not even manage to get a stick on the Erod shot despite standing there for 30 seconds in the first place. - Pegullaville
and who takes aston-reese for the cross-ice layup?...at least it was one-on-one, e-rod vs. tokharski...
that's all i've got to say on the matter...knock yourself out

you want darcy to squeeze every last drop out of his fellow gm in an eichel trade |

Did Risto even take Aston Reese though ?
Watch again. Buddy is out to lunch. I got $10 on if Erod passes instead of shoots Risto still doesn’t get a stick on it and Aaron Reese scores or Tokarksi has to make an unbelievable save.
The goal is 80% on Cozens. However to say Irwin and Risto are not accessories to the crime by making themselves available for a pass is not correct sir. |

It's encouraging how much responsibility Donny Meatballs is giving to those 2 lines and how much they're stepping up.
As strange as it may be to think and say, how those 2 lines perform and continue to improve matters much more than the Reinhart line as far as the rest of this season goes towards impacting the future. - kingcong39
I think he's doing the best thing possible with these kids. Told them to not worry about making mistakes and is just letting them learn how to play. These last weeks of the season could be the best thing for their careers, up to this point. |

Had a golf tourney today so I just finished watching the game. Didn’t backread. Just so happy that we are not an easy two points anymore. Even when outplayed they keep themselves in it and they almost tied it. Cuz made a mistake in the corner that lead to a pens goal and he was pissed. Won’t happen again. We are gonna play the spoiler in games down the stretch. |

Sabres went toe to toe with the best team in our division as of late.
I’ll take it.
They were a Jack Eichel away from winning today. - Pegullaville
Yup. Good point. Let’s hope he’s getting as excited about what is going on as we are |

He looked good tonight. That fish lipped toe dragging MFer. He would probably be a stud in granatos system. |

and skinner had a 71 xg%...do you really think he had that much of an impact? - Michael Pachla
Well, yes.
If you have a 71% Xg you probably aren’t in your zone a lot |

Year 8. Same bad coverage mistakes (not referring to this one) same terrible breakout passes and same terrible decision making
He’s a #4/5 D man on any good blue line |

I’d like to see Samuelsson get a few games this year. He’s taken a step in Rochester.
Rather see what he has than keep trotting Irwin out there |

I don’t think people fully grasp the fact that the Sabres being terrible and Ristolainen being terrible go hand in hand
Does anyone think it’s a coincidence that when our “#1 D man” who plays all the important minutes plays really well to start every season, the Sabres win some games?
Does anyone think it’s a coincidence that the Sabres are winning with Dahlin and Jokiharju stepping up and providing offense lately?
When Risto is gone it will signal the end of this era of bad hockey for me.
Nothing against the guy as a person but I’ve never been more over watching a player do the same ineffective things game after game year after year |

I agree completely. The guy is an absolute warrior out there (unless its time to defend a teammate) but he isn't a good hockey player.

Let’s hope he still commands a return. Good prospect or solid 2nd, 3rd line winger |

This is the O’Reilly argument all over again
If Risto goes to a good team, you’ll see him be successful
It’s not his fault we’ve had to use him as a #1,
it’s management’s fault for putting out crap teams for the last 8years
Why u blame Risto for the team’s lack of success is just like what u did with ROR
O’Reilly went to another team & immediately proved he could be part of a winner
Same will be true with Risto

Ill eat my shoes live here if Ristolainen ever wins a Conn Smythe and then a Norris.
It’s never happening
Ryan O’Reilly was good as a Sabre, never great
Ristolainen has never been actually good. He’s an averse, at very best defensemen |

O’Reilly wasn’t “great” here bc he was on a CRAP TEAM
It’s not like he suddenly became a much better player with StL- he was placed in a better situation
If u can’t recognize that the situations he & Risto have been placed in here were basically horrible,
then idk what to tell ya?
They played the toughest minutes against the other teams’ top players with little help around them
Even Hall & Eichel struggled this year bc of the situations they were in
That’s what happens to even good players when they’re on terrible teams |

Even when ROR didn’t have the greatest of offensive output he was always stout defensively.
ROR had good years in Colorado, was great his first few years here before stagnating. Then caught his footing again in St.Louis.
Risto has just always been a replacement level defender. |

Based on what?
Also, you’re missing my point
I’m not saying Risto is as good as ROR
I’m saying when players are put in the toughest situations on TERRIBLE TEAMS, that of course his numbers won’t look good |

I hope UPL doesn't play today. It feels too rushed and against the wrong opponent. |
