Time to trade Kreider. Too bad he has a NMC. - JRR1285
He’s a perfect 3rd line player if he’s playing physical. I don’t care about salaries/which line he’s playing on when a guy that will be playing in his spot (Laf) will be on an ELC. Get a physical grinding scoring 3rd line with skill and get a tough hitting 4th line. That’s the recipe for success.
Panarin Strome Kakko
Laf Zib Buch
Kreider Barron Kravtsov
Foligno Rooney Goodrow

I'm not dismissing the thought, but I'd be surprised if they go out and buy 4th liners this summer

Kreider is an avergae first liner and great third liner. Laf should be moved up there now to see what he can do especially if he gets no PP time - nyrangers2
He isn’t supposed to be a first line player. That has never been his skills. The problem is players like Kakko, laf, and Kravtsov aren’t ready yet. He has to play there due to the team being in transition. |

I like the theory. But, not the line up. I assume you mean Nick Foligno since he's soon to be a UFA. He was captain in Columbus. He's making $5.5M. You expect him to come and play on our 4th line? What dollar figure do you suppose the team and his agent will agree upon for that role?
And losing Bkackwell to bring in Goodrow isn't a net positive for me. I'd rather they tell CB to just play more physical. Sure he's a fair bit smaller, but he doesn't shy away from it. |

Blackwell is 5’9 180..... pay him 3 million, switch him and Barron I don’t care. Him and Goodrow are the veteran/physical presence were lacking. And we don’t need the cap space for a few years so who cares what we pay them. |

We’re not buying a goalie or top 9 wingers, so what’s left to buy? I doubt they buy a 3C, but could see a trade for a young center if they feel Barron can’t fill that role. |

Financially we kind of are buying a goalie. Shesty's contract will be interesting |

I think kravs is tbh. Laf probably not but his skill set is better in that role. Kreids is better now in his career as a 3rd line and pp1 specialist |

90% of which are tip in’s. The guy has a purpose and hes great at what he does in front of the net. However, he is not particularly great at anything offense. Hes a mediocre playmaker and doesnt have a reliable shot. How many breakaways in his career has he floundered on? Hes good using his body, hes good getting the puck to the dirty areas, hes difficult to move but elevating the play of other guys? Nope. Not Kreider. On top of the fact that hes notoriously streaky and has a very fragile mentality. Half of Mr. team leader in goals goals came over a 6 game stretch. So hes got 10 goals over the other 40 games this team has played, thats not a particularly great spread. Kreider should not be removed from the PP1, hes too good at what he does there. Even strength, hes a north-south dump and chase player. |

Who cares how you score...a goal is a goal. He plays less minutes then Zib, Buch, Panarin and Strome per game. He also doesn’t have the empty net stats those guys get. Just cause he isn’t a fancy offensive player like everyone wants to see doesn’t mean he isn’t productive. Tired of the hate. |

I think hate is a strong word here. But I will tell you that I am tired of his disappearing act. We KNOW he can play a fast, physical game and we KNOW he can be a leader. He just doesn't show up enough with the consistency that we expect with that contract.
Lets face a simple, unpleasant truth here: if the Rangers knew they were winning the lottery, Kreider was probably going to Colorado. They didn't though, and now we are kind of "stuck" with him. I am going to be frustrated with him until he shows up on many more nights. He can be a GREAT player, we have all seen it. Beast mode Kreider is so much fun to watch! |

Kreider was my favorite Ranger behind Hank for a long time. These last few years he just disappears though. He needs to be more physical and tough to play against. He’s not a finesse player and we don’t need him to score 25+ goals anymore, but he needs to play more physical and use his speed better. |

Its not hate. As I said, hes excellent at what he does, and by no means should he be removed from PP1. However at even strength he should be on the 3rd line. Furthermore my post points at his consistency and mental fragility. When he scored that open net slap pass from Zib, the look on his face wasnt relief, elation or hunger. It was “ah, fk… whatever”. |

I think they are going to use the 4th line as they’ve been doing, to break in a young forwards and then have a couple of cheap forwards they utilize for penalty killing
We have this fantasy that the Rangers will be a 4 line team and it’s never happening.
With the 2nd best player in the game you can’t limit his minutes, Panarin should be playing 22-25 minutes a game the next few years. |

How long can we expect him to produce at or near this level? Do you think they have a top 10 player in the league for the duration of his contract? |

So you are a mind reader now? This is so dumb lol. Yea the same guy who is the last one to leave the ice every game as he gives every player a high five or a hug before they leave. Yea he doesn't care. Just going through the motions. |

I gotta say I said the same thing on here when he signed, will he produce at the levels he was at when he signed, about a PPG, well the (frank)er has gone over and beyond to prove me wrong. He looks like he can produce like this for at least another 3 yrs. Who knows what years 6 and 7 will look like but by then, hopefully, KK, Laf, Chytil and whoever is here will have developed into stars themselves. |
