Im not a Fire Quinn guy or a Quinn lover but I thought it was strange that he didnt move Krava around at all last night. Clearly the best player on NYR last night

I agree, Kravstov makes Howden and Rooney look better, imagine what he could do for others

Where do you slot him though? I think we need a more “traditional” 4th line. The only one I’d keep possibly is Rooney. Need some guys that can hit and a center that can win faceoffs on that line.

So, all the presser's where Quinn is frustrated and saying how these guys can't succeed if they keep trying to play east-west AGAINST the system we are trying to employ is what? Just playing it up for the media in order to keep his job?
At the end of the day, the onus is on the players. This was an obvious case of them trying to be pretty, like they could do against the AHL Devils, instead of fighting through adversity and getting to the front of the net.
We had multiple guys not bring it and an AHL level defenseman forced into covering part of Trouba's role, which he was clearly not up to. And you still want to ring your doomsday bell and scream about the coach. It's tired.

- Tonybere

I dont understand, is Quinn not the coach of this team? When will he wake up and smell what hes shovelling and make people accountable if that the case?

Oh you guys wanna do your own thing? Fine, youre benched. Scratched. Etc…

I still think it's obvious that Kravstov should be in Blackwell's spot

Power play work to get things going today for the #NYR

PP1: Kreider, Strome, Zibanejad, Panarin, Fox

PP2: Buchnevich, Kravtsov, Jones, Blackwell, Miller. Lafreniere switched with Jones on next shift.

Would be cool to just take out Blackwell and put in Laf for the last 10 games

I was with you, thought he was being showcased why he was on the 2nd line

But now I think Quinn is gonna keep him as a top 6 player next year too if he isn't taken by Seattle

I don't even though how anyone could say that either way, this AHL season is ridiculous, they have played 18 games, either Bridgeport or Providence over and over again, no other teams, 11am every day in front of no fans

basically impossible to evaluate what we have there

- jimbro83

Bridgeport is like a bonfire of dirty diapers. They're so bad.

I don't follow this.
(frank) pedigree. (frank) who was scouted to do what.
Blackwell has been probably our most consistent forward all season and a member of one of the best lines in the league over the last month.
This is not where you make "improvements."

I may defend Scorewell, but I don't want to see him on that 2nd line next season either. He can be key to us being able to roll 4 lines, the way Kravy is right now. But, with them reversed we should be able to keep production high.

I think he will still have trade value this summer or at the draft. And probably having players to expose and trade chips at the draft is worth more. Package deal for upgrades to this roster may be done at the draft.

Can a cup be won with finesse? Yea it can, look at the Blackhawks.

However, as a coach you have to know when to turn on the finesse or turn on the physical. You have to know how to adjust your game plan and approach if it doesnt seem to be working out. This was always my concern with Quinn from day 1. Playoff coaching… Coaching through adversity. Another thing is closing out games.

The hawks had some tough players on their teams. We don’t have a roster like any of them teams.

Was thinking the same thing.
Trouba might equate to Seabrook, but that's about as close as we come.

I just think with 10 games left and the playoffs most likely done, now is a good time to try out Kravstov in that role, Jones full time. Like you say Blackwell can fit well on that 4th line.

He is a league minimum, defensively responsible, hard working guy that even when he gets a raise probably won't make more than about $1.7M. Why is he always getting traded instead of being part of the 4th line of the future?

Oh I want to keep him. I have said it many times. I just threw that out there as an options the Rangers may be using. If the Rangers keep him, I will be happy. I agree with you.

For sure. All bets are off now that we lost that game.
I'm all for trying these kids out with increased ice time for the remainder of this season.
I just don't get saying Blackwell is a problem on the 2nd line when he (and they) have done nothing but put the puck in the net. Same as it was last year with Fast. Is he a top player? No. Does it matter, so long as the line performs? Also no. It really should be seen as a blessing in disguise. Every team is desperate to lengthen their line up. We complain about it.

I would say Kravtsov has been better in every game so far than Blackwell. Blackwell was playing better than Kakko hence why he stayed up there for so long before kravs joined.

Hes better suited on the 4th line than Kravs also
