I know some will say it’s just one game but after how they showed last year in the bubble, it’s concerning again in what was basically a playoff game they shyt themselves again. They have a lot of talent but do they have what it takes to dig deep and win playoff style games? Gorton has some questions to answer when he is trying to put some more upgrades to this team over the summer.
The question now is the same as the one that popped in the aftermath of the bubble, and that is Can the Rangers’ creative, talent-based approach to the game succeed in the playoffs? Can this wonderfully entertaining, albeit often infuriating, style thrive when lanes are shut down and their skaters are forced into a bottleneck?
and the topic of the day on Rangers twitter you ask after a terrible loss?
why it's Lias vs Howden of course - jimbro83
Rangers were outplayed and out coached by a better more experienced team. I think the rangers have more talent and this is the islanders peak. That being said the rangers need to adjust and come up big in important games

The answer is no. You need grit to win in the playoffs, look at all those years Tampa made deep runs with no cup, they make 2 deadline deals for Goodrow and Coleman and they win the cup. I didn’t like getting rid of Lemeuix bc come playoff time you need guys like him in the lineup. We need the 2014 version of Chris Kreider running around hitting everyone playing with speed, not the passive bs touches he puts on people now.

when you watch that behind the scenes Rangers draft video when JD jizzes all over the place, he is essentially saying this about why he wants Schneider so badly
