And the year before when he had 82 points in a REAL NHL season? - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Exactly.... on bumbalo. What’s he do on a real team? 15-20% better? So 100 point season? And just about to hit prime |

Lol wut?
Jack Eichel is 24 Years old. Two years younger than Couturier and he has over a point per game in 2 of the last 3 seasons. His career high is 82 points and he had 78 points last season which was 2 points better than Couturier.....
2017-18: 64 points in 67 games
2018-19: 82 points in 77 games
2019-20: 78 points in 68 games
2020-21: 18 points in 21 games
Average #1 C my @ss - xShoot4WarAmpsx
He was taking about Couturier when he said "average 1c". Also, Eichel is 4 years younger, not 2.

Coots and TK for Eichel and Ristolainen. I’d do it. Might need to sweeten it to get them to take Ghost so things work out capwise. |

we could loosen the guidelines and he still isn't generational dude. he's very good, but not close to generational level. but you were still throwing that around a few months ago, which is hilarious. - Ftown19125
He might have been referring to the generational length of the Eurasian otter, which is about 2 years.

They won't though. Not close.
One reason why we will need to offer far more than Couts for Eichel is because Couts may not want to stay around at any reasonable cost and may want to hit UFA instead.

IMO any package the Flyers would be offering for Eichel would have to include one of Couts or Provorov. If Buffalo makes it known that he's available, some other team would almost certainly beat any package the Flyers could put together that doesn't include one of those two.
I also think there's no way Buffalo takes a package that includes Jake or any of our other high-priced underperforming vets. If they're selling Eichel, they're looking to hit a homerun. Not take back a bad contract or do us any favors. So again, any Flyers package that would include one of those guys would likely get beaten by another team pretty easily.
I realize that Buffalo would pretty much have to take back some salary in the deal, but my point is I don't think they'd have any trouble finding a good player that is actually earning their paycheck as opposed to one of the guys we're practically trying to give away |

That’s a good deal for Buffalo. They’re looking to compete and need NHL ready players to build around. If they can’t re-sign Coots they flip him for whatever. Unless someone goes overboard on an offer that’s about the caliber of deals they’re going to get offered. |

How is that a good deal? Whoever they flip Couts to takes the same risk and they get say a couple of 1sts.
TK is trending downwards from last post-season. He is borderline 1st/2nd line winger at this stage. Rasmus is borderline 1st/ 2nd pairing guy. So you give up a franchise center and a 1st pairing D for 2 firsts and a 1st/2nd line winger?
Thats not enough just for Eichel.

Eichel is not going anywhere, but if he does he is going to Boston, his home town team.

I think he would be generational on a good team. Or at least that would be his ceiling. But if we’re using very tight guidelines for generational as in 1 in every 25 years type talent then no he isn’t - SMS4016
Youre either generational or youre not, regardless of the surrounding players. Matthews is a great player, not generational and hes better than Eichel |

If Seth Jones tells CLB that he's not going to resign, the franchise should move or fold....they bleed star talent |

If I am Seth, I start with asking for the 8th year, the NTC, and 84 mil.
If they want to give that to a guy who will be 28 around when the contract kicks in, fair enough. But it would be a very un-CBJ thing to do.

The Sabres would tell you to take a hike if you offered them that and might not trade with the flyers organization ever again if you even suggested it |

Ever since it was pointed out that we needed to catch up Boston and that they’re not that good, every team in our division has proven to be useless including our Flyers that can’t come away with winnable games. |

This team along with this era of hockey has jaded me to believe big deals cannot favorite the Flyers anymore. In reality though, the Flyers might be able to offer something pretty great for Jack Eichel, with nobody being off limits including Sean Couturier. Although, I think it’s ideal that this team keeps Coots and also gets Eichel.
I’ve always been pro keep the young guys together but in this the question is, what does Buffalo want? A first round pick. Nolan Patrick. I think the only players I call off limits is Carter Hart and Ivan Provorov. They’re players of need.
I’m all in on Jack Eichel over Seth Jones. |

In the hypothetical eichel route I would like to avoid including any Dmen, it’s a weak point to begin with. |
