I think a factor is Eichel doesn’t want to be there.
- arichardson22

No one would, but if they ever hope to be relevant they would do whatever he wants to keep him. If they simply cannot then he'd be on the top of my list.

Or Buffalo and Columbus could trade both impact players with one another. I’m sure Jones would have to come with a young prospect center going the other way or high draft pick.
- SuperSchennBros

I doubt Jones want to re-sign in Buffalo and it wouldn’t shock me if Eichel doesn’t want to play in Columbus since it seems no one wants to either lol

People in bumbalo hope Jack is traded for his sake. They feel for him. He has been a great pro but wants to win. The sabres have pieces but aren’t close. Trading Jack brings them some of the pieces to move forward. Most people believe he wants out. Not a knock on bumbalo but he sees Connor and Matthews with high talent around them succeeding somewhat and wants that chance. I think he can be had because they have cozens who can be a #1 in near future. Coots as center piece is perfect from bumbalo perspective. Can play top line minutes now and as cozens progresses move to 2c roll where he should be. Add sanheim or Myers to help their d and some sort of package of ready prospects/picks and deal easily could be done

Honestly I’m a little surprised players don’t want to play in Columbus. Ohio state is a major party school. One would think the young players in the league would be attracted to that type environment.

Do it chuck.

I’d be very Leary on trading for Eichel at the moment! He’s about to undergo surgery for a herniated disk in his neck. Professionally speaking, I’d want to know all the details of the type of surgery needed, if he has experienced any nerve related issues and for how long( nerves can grow back but it takes 1 cm of nerve damage 30 days to regenerate). Hopefully he has a great surgical team.

Honestly.... I know many season ticket holders and actually was going on on package with some co workers until fake virus fake season no fans bs and bumbalo is huge hockey market actually I’d say 60-70% of the people want Jack traded. I wouldn’t say want as in a bad way more of a pity way or way to improve team

this reminds me of the eric lindros trade...Lindros was a beast, but take a look below. The after affects of that trade are ridiculous.

You also stop the Rangers from getting him.

Knowing the flyers luck, he would be traded for and end up injured half the time. WE ARE CURSED.

Just saying this is what happens when you give a ridiculous amount of assets to acquire on player.

Buffalo would have to iron out an extension with coots as the trade is going down. Tall task.

I don’t see why Buffalo would do this.
- SuperSchennBros

I agree, I wouldn't give up on Eichel if I were Buffalo either, however that withstanding this trade proposal is not a bad one for either side.

And why would Couturier want to go to Buffalo?

There's a contract in place. Nothing is gonna happen unless both the team and the player want to move on. Jack can want out all he wants. The Sabres can just say no. What's Eichel gonna do? Stay home and give up $10M in base salary next season?

He can be miserable.

The Sabres can sit him at their own peril. His value in a trade would plummet.

I like Eichel but i would focus on Seth Jones.

We need to get the defense straightened up before we worry about adding Centers we dont need.

Well if he truly wants out what the team gonna do ? Play hardball? I think he’s already stressed he wants out and the last 2 seasons the team has said give us a shot first. Let us try to sign some vets like staal hall. Didn’t work. If the situation turns toxic the trade value goes down. Especially with superstars of very rarely gets to that point.

How did that logic work out for Carson Wentz?

Given what Eichel has given to the franchise, and what he has gotten back in terms of everything except money (the lamentations that they got him instead of McDavid, the horrendous supporting cast, the soccer coach), Jack is outta there the year he wants to.

Else Buffalo commits franchise hara kiri.
