I'm not so sure I agree at this point. Sorokin has been every bit as good if not better than Varly for the last few games. His upside is higher. The experience part still obviously favors Varly, so Barry is likely to lean his way, but I think Sorokin has very quicky become the goaltender I think is more capable of stealing a game.

That said, thank God we have both of them.

Definitely. His adjustment to speed/angles continues to improve. The kid's lateral movement is off the charts. His positioning has steadily improved (Thanks Mitch). He's calm under pressure and is learning to play within himself. Having him amd Varly is a massive luxury. I just hope the rest of the team can't start firing on all cylinders soon

I standby what I said yesterday they’ll get it together and go in hot to the playoffs. They better get hot before this next stretch of games against the caps and Rangers or they won’t have to worry about the playoffs

It's been an awful long time since they've played a complete hockey game. I'd say it was a few games BEFORE Anders was hurt. I'm worried that our trade didn't cure anything from Anders' absence. Essentially the team has a handful of games to find a new identity and make it work.

He is the future for sure

This is the 2nd game he stole that the Islanders had no business winning. We won because of him. We need a shutout every night to win games. That is what the goalies are reduced to now.

The shots were 30-28 for Philadelphia. Sorokin stood on his head in the 1st, but only needed to make 6 saves in the 3rd.

This game was a great deal more competitive than your post suggests.
