Just finally saw the game highlights after reading about how brutal Campbe11 played last night.....
Which goals were weak?
The screen by Perreault?
2 on 1 snipe by Connor?
Breakaway move by Schiefele?
I assume the Freddie wives were quick to pounce 😕
Muzzin, Holl and Marner were far more responsible for the goals - mr.sir
Both first 2 goals were soft and stoppable and ultimately cost the Leafs the game & the fault of the goalie. I've learned this from implying or asking if anyone else if responsible for goals against the Leafs several times this season.
2 words - Rhymes with "Fanbell Knife".
Welcome to married life.
I still don't care that much, as long as one (preferably 2 or all 3 obviously) of the Leafs 3 goalies get to playing to a level of league average or better goaltending I think they will be fine against anyone in the North division at least - if not more. Above average, Veznia (Helly(frank)) level would be fantastic but you have to dance with who brought ya.
I think Big Save Dave has shown he can play / is at the league average or better level despite his epic Big Whiff Dave moment last night on a terrible play by Mitch. I have faith that Campbell and even Andersen can get back to the same level.

LOL. its ok. he wasnt going to win every game.
No one pounced last night.
They were bad two bad goals he should have had, three goals on three shots.
He gets yanked. Happens to any goalie. |

Generally, teams with the best offence win the first half of the season. Teams that play the best team defence will win during the stretch drive. Teams with the best goaltending always have an edge in the playoffs. |

Just watched the game review on NHL.com
Marner's defense specially on the 4th goal... Not great at all. Actually it sucked. Brutal giveaway., but should have never gone in. The new guy from Calgary shiit the bed on that one.
As for Campbell, First goal was a wrister from top of the circle, I would think he would want that one back. The 2nd and 3rd were great Jet chances that they scored on, poor D and the tender did not bail out his team. Happens. - bixll
The first and second goals Campbell gave up were soft and should have been saved, full stop.
A breakaway is a crap shoot but as many say "you want/need a save there" especially when you have just given up 2 and your team has battled back. Those were back breaker goals and it was done once the Jets scored on the 3rd one.
On to the next one. |

I don't want to break up the HEM line if possible.
I'd leave dusty nose with AM and Mitch on Ln1
Then Lou Foligno - JT - Willy as line 2
HEM line 3
Mix and Match time for line 4 from the following:
Simmons, Spezza, Jumbo, Kerplunk, **NASH - EDIT**, Tricky Nicky Robertson, Sabourin (if you feel you need some face punching done) - Cush29
Well Keefe will have time to try things but I think Hyman has more offense than Foligno so I put him up on top line. You could go either way - Gally or Foligno on line# and 2 and 3 but I think Foligno gives you the best pure shut down line. Finally, I’ve been more impressed by Kerfoot than Engvall in recent games so I’d add him to Foligno and Mik but whatev’s at that point.
The rest is Nash if/when ready and Spezza and whoever Keefe feels is going or fits situational needs. |

Second goal, Conor scored from 15 ft out. Prefect shot, Campbell can't be blamed for it. JMO. 1 st and 4th goal yes.. 4th goal for sure was total crap. |

I think it's all going to be quite fluid for the first bit when they see how much offense Lou Foligno brings, who clicks with who etc. And even then in a game where they need to shake things up this gives Keefe a whole lot of options.
Nice problems / solutions to have!
I can't wait to see how they are with Willy, AM and Foligno all in the line up and Nash when he is good to go. Talk about a shake up in itself vs say last nights line up!
That's why I am fairly m'eh about the game last night - the line up will look so much different next time we play the Jets / come playoffs. The concerns about Jumbo Joe and / or Simmonds not being effective will be much less when they are getting alot less ice time and/or not playing!

Jumbo needs less ice time for sure.
Simmonds needs to find his groove. He was brought in for the playoffs, doubt he sees less ice time unless he really sucks |

I just watched the game highlights to see the goals again - Gally-chuck hitting the post on the 5 on 3 hurt. Had he cashed there it would have been 2-0 Leafs and you have to wonder how the rest of the game would have played out.
Anyhow on goal 1 Campbell is far too deep and gets beat. He needs to front the guy partially screening him and find that puck. To me it's a bad goal.
Goal 2 - he is a bit too deep but what killed him was he slid too for to his right, giving up the angle a bit and he got burnt. Happens but again it's a soft / stoppable shot - although a nicely placed shot (low inside post). Gally-chuck not being able to stop the pass across really hurt and left HOLL to try and do too much.
Happens I guess. |

You’re actually right because it comes down to what you value. Countries that care enough prevent it from happening on the scale it happens in the US. In the US, let’s just say the values skew a little differently. |
