I also think the more you can invest in scouting the bigger the advantage.

I read on here a bunch about guys whining about the players that "got away"....Bickel, Teravainen, Jokerariu....

There is only ONE I cringe at. Hated it then,,,hate it even more now. Panarin. Damn, that kid is a stud. A top 10-15 forward in the entire league. He is the one...the ONLY one I truly regret. Really wish we could have found a way, He is gonna dominate ten more years yet!

Sigh....but, let it go. We have a good young team. couple of years away, but we will get there...

LBR,

I saw that you are a L Carlsson fan over on secondcity hockey site. I agree that he would be solid when playing with a good partner. You referenced his success with Murphy last year, citing statistical evidence

A surprise that he is not in Florida line up tonight but there could be reasons why. You state that he was solid on either side as he is nimly a lefty. If you want there is L Carlsson AHL scoring highlights on that site. Just cick on his picture in the red Icehog uniform

I get it that he is a third pair depth guy but I personally think some are under rating him a bit.

- jhawk59[/quotvarlson is on Florida’s taxi squad. Florida has 9 defenseman on their 23 man roster. I don t see Carlson playing in any meaningful game for Florida.

An ok player. And the return was crap. But, not nearly the same level. Danault would be a nice 3rd liner. Panarin a super-star first liner.

Oh I know. Just he is another one the board loves to mention as one that got away. Thought I would pile on the misery.

Panarin is an absolute gem and we were lucky to find him and have him for a few seasons

Boston? Guess we are just forgetting the picks in a row that netted a 4th line scrub?
- Elbows15

Pipeline is related to player development after drafting.

But since you (correctly)chose to zero in on those 3 sh$tty picks one year at 13/14/15, how about these:

Carlo(37), Pastrnak (25), Grzelcyk (85), Frederic (29), Heinen (116), Lauzon (52), Marchand (71), Lucic (50).

Do you think the Hawks could have used a couple of those guys and likely whiffed on more than one of them on draft day? Somebody in Bruinville knows what they are doing.

Yea i guess Murphy not realizing the stick tap meant the PP was ending, mental errors are a killer

Still trying to figure this defense out, so Kalynuk has to cover the guy out to the blue line, then skate back to the net and cover another guy?

More like Keith took such a weak shot it acted as a pass that the Detroit defenseman just flipped out to center ice.

The return was crap for panarin too. But he wasn't what he is right now back then. Imagine the hall they could get for him creating now in his prime. Or letting other players go instead

Maybe he didn't hear it in an empty building.

Pp needs more inside play.

How about some movement to open up some shooting lanes?

Three Bad goals given up - on Lankinen, on Murphy, on Kalynuk.

43 SATs (all strengths) - 17 blocked, 12 missed, 14 (1/3) on net.
5x5 - 30 SATs, 12 blocked, 10 missed, 8 on net.

Aren’t going to score many with those stats.

So Kalynuk was suppose to keep following his guy, and someone else was suppose to cover the guy who scored.
