4 pts ahead of CGY with 3 games in hand, I know there are no guarantees but they're still in a good position to make them
- Pat1993

if Calgary beats them tomorrow in regulation then it becomes wide open.

Did you look at CGY schedule? 4 games against VAN who just had covid so it’s like 8 easy points there, no games against Toronto and a few against EDM and OTT and of course us
- habs88888

I know, you've mentioned this already, but currently the habs are still in a good position to make them. the habs could lose all their games against the flames and still make the playoffs, as for some reason they seem to match up better against the laffs

i assume a buyout at some point would wreck our cap?
i do still think he has a few years left as a good player. he's just ideally suited now to a secondary role.

- DoubleDown

If you were him and you'd already made over $100m in career earnings, would you play for $1m a year before taxes as your body is breaking down and your play is no longer to your personal standards? Montreal can essentially say we won't let you retire on a fake injury and collect, pass him on a physical and he then has to retire or play. I imagine they work out a behind the scenes ambassador type thing to make him whole plus so they avoid the cap hit and LTIR mess. Those are my guesses, one or two more seasons after this

Also Allen is a great goalie and I don’t blame him for any of the losses (even though it sounds like I am doing that), but I am still hoping team rallies and play better in front of Price

with still 3 games in hand, which is kind of significant. no guarantees for sure, but that wouldn't put me in panic mode yet

While I mostly agree but with my initial premise that Bergevin loses his job if they don't make the playoffs, if they start slipping too much, he'll use his trump card sooner than later.

Caufield will be with the team in the playoffs anyway. AHL still hasn't confirmed they'll have playoffs of their own.

- Scabeh

Don't bring up Caufield into this mess. If he comes up and doesn't score, people will get on his case like flies on poop. Can you imagine if he causes a turnover à la Weber and the Habs get scored on?

yeah, the "intense" fanbase (to stay polite lol) would need to calm the (frank) down, which is unlikely to happen, I get your point

I know sandwiches rarely look like how they're advertised in the pictures, but those do look beautiful.

that's actually one thing in his favor. the buildings are empty. the media is not allowed near the team. he can pretty insulated. i mean it's not like he's going to be scanning this board to see what we're saying about him.

it's hit or miss by location but they usually look pretty good. i go scrambled eggs and bacon but there's egg white if you want that and sausage or ham or whatever.

The way I look at it is the more the kid get exposed right now the better, heck there maybe a month left in our season anyways and if it doesn’t work out send him back to Laval to start next season and make sure he is ready before we call him back up. Plus there are no fans in the seats so pressure is a lot less

very true. also I know the NHL is a different animal but I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time he gets criticized since he started playing hockey... smaller guys usually have to prove themselves more than others
